The Kaleidescape Speed Reader is a bulk loader
for importing large numbers of DVDs and CDs into
a Kaleidescape System.
Designed for reliable, unattended operation, the
Speed Reader uses two DVD/CD-ROM drives to
achieve an average import performance of six (6)
DVDs or sixteen (16) CDs per hour. Each of two
input bins accepts a stack of up to 140 discs for
a total capacity of 280 discs.
Installation is simple and straightforward. The
Speed Reader connects directly to Ethernet and
is easily configured using the Kaleidescape
browser interface.
Imports are managed on the browser interface.
Long imports can be skipped, imports can be
started and stopped, and the status of individual
discs can be viewed. An import log tracks
progress and reports problems, making it easy
to locate scratched or dirty discs.
