Sun’n’Fun
PHECSA continues to offer the ever so popular
Sun‘n‘Fun Camps. Children can join for the day, the
week, or the entire summer. Our experienced adult
leaders keep the children engaged with games, educational and fun activities, trail walks and field trips.
Don‘t forget to bring lunch, snacks, drinks, nonmarking running shoes, bathing suit, towel, sun screen, hat, and be
prepared for fun & folly!!!
Note: field trips are on Thursdays unless otherwise noted and, if
you‘d like your child to attend, a minimum of 3 days registration
will be required during that week.
PARENTS PLEASE NOTE: In order to complete the necessary
paperwork, registration for Sun’n’Fun must be done in person.

Week #1 - July 7 - 11 THE OLYMPIC GAMES!
Campers—Go for the GOLD! this week as we carry the Olympic
torch to the opening ceremonies! Create your own Olympic flag,
mascot, and gold medals, and then join in the fun by participating in
Olympic events! Test your knowledge by playing ―Olympic Gold
Trivia ―and join our Sun n Fun crew for rock climbing & a picnic at
Project Climbing Center, and Mill lake Park!
Week #2 - July 14 - 18 KNIGHTS OF THE ROUNDTABLE
Travel back in time to the Medieval ages where knights abound and
princesses save the day! Create your own shields, crowns, wizard
caps, and masquerade mask! Craft a fossilized dino egg, and play
‗Merlin‘s Magic Relay‘ where your opponent may be turned into a
frog! Then join us on our time travel field trip bus where we will explore Historic Yale and experience living history!
Week #3 - July 21 - 25 SUPERHERO’S CONQUEST!
BAM! POW!! Suit up campers, sharpen your ‗spidy senses‘ and get
ready for a fun week of super powers and super antics! Create your
own super hero identity and disguise, craft a rocket fueled jet pack,
kryptonite rock candy, and make marshmallow mini-heroes! The
best part of the week though, will be using your ―super speed ―to
master the tube ride at Bridal Falls Water Park!
Week #4 - July 28 - August 01 ANIMAL PLANET!
Did you know that elephants hold grudges or that cougars can't
roar? Discover unique animal facts and learn about wildlife conservation during this amazing week! Join in the fun as we create a menagerie of wild animals including a rain forest frog, folding zoo,
painted tigers, cupcake pandas & monkey bread! Find your inner
ROAR as we escape to ―Great Escape Lazer Tag‖ in Langley on
our field trip this week!
Week #5 - August 5 - 8 SHARKS! Guardians of the Ocean Deep!
Explore the secret world of sharks as we delve into these fascinating creatures! Make cool shark crafts and learn about many different types of sharks including the Great white and endangered Hammer head. Join the Sun n Fun crew as they explore the Vancouver
Aquarium this week!
Week #6 - August 11—15 ADVENTURE LAND!
Grab your gear as we prepare for a week of camping adventure!
S‘mores and trail mix are on the menu.! Pitch a ten and gather
around for ghost stories to thrill and chill you! Then join our crew for
a field trip adventure at "Wild Play" Element Park in Maple
Ridge. *Campers under 7 will be provided an alternate activity for the outing*
Week #7 - August 18 – 22 INTERGALACTIC EXPLORATIONS!
Are you ready for the time of your life? Join us as we buckle up in
our space shuttle and BLAST OFF to explore the mysterious world
of space! Image what it would be like to live on the moon? Campers
will create a comet with the Sun n Fun crew, and star gaze on this
week‘s field trip to the H.R. MacMillan Space Center!

KIDS—Join Bonnie for these fun summer camps! Camps include
themed crafts, outdoor play, stories, games, songs and more!
Let’s Go Camping
Let‘s explore the adventure of camping. Stars &
campfire stories, s‘mores & more! We‘ll huddle in

General Information
What is a Community School?
A Community School is an exciting approach to the integration of a local
school with the neighborhood that it serves. It provides a vehicle for the
participation of all community residents in social, educational and recreational activities.
Who Are We?
PHECSA is a non-profit organization that has been formed to identify and
link community needs and to provide for the participation of all community residents in social, educational, and recreational activities. Ongoing
programs and services are offered daily within the Promontory Heights
Elementary Community School‘s facilities. Use of the facilities has been
made possible due to the partnership between School District #33 and
the City of Chilliwack. PHECSA would like to gratefully acknowledge the
funding received from the City of Chilliwack, and the Province of British
Columbia.
