The purpose of this document is
to improve the clarity of information
we provide in relation to the process
of extending or re-validating your
connection quotation.

Introduction
This document is valid for Generation
quotations or new Development quotations.
However with smaller connections (1-4
houses) which are required to be quoted in
5 to 15 working days, it is more appropriate
to request a re-quote other than an
extension or re-validate the quotation.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks are required
under their licence conditions to be non-discriminatory
between different types of customers. The options
outlined in this process document are written to ensure
all applicants are treated equally.
Extension of a connection quotation
An extension of a quotation will extend the
expiry date of the quotation by a maximum
of 10 working days. This extension can be
requested as long as the quotation meets
the below listed conditions and if the
extension does not unfairly advantage
or dis-advantage another party.
The extension is subject to certain conditions:
•The quotation must still be valid and
fall within the 90 days validity
•The quotation must also be within
10 working days of the expiry date
•The quotation must not have been
extended previously
Quotation Extension Process
•You can formally request an extension of a
connection by sending an email request to
the relevant Scottish and Southern Electricity
Networks Commercial Contract Manager,
Customer Connections Manager or Designer.
•In any case, confirmation will be sent to you by
email whether the extension has been granted or
not within 10 working days of your request and we
will provide the new expiration date if applicable.
•The extension date will be reflected by an update to
our internal system to ensure the extension is recorded.
•We will ensure the Connection quotation meets
requirements for an extension mentioned above.

Re-validating a connection quotation
You can request a re-validation of your
connection quotation which will renew
the existing quote for a further 90 days
from date of expiry.
A re-validation is subject to the following conditions:
•The original quotation must still be valid (within the
90 days of issue)
• No elements of the application have changed
• The quotation has not already been revalidated
•There is no interactivity (this is where another
party wishes to connect utilising the same area
of network)
• No new network study is required
•The request is made within 10 working days prior
to the quotation expiration date
Quotation Re-validation Process
•You may formally request a re-validation of your
quotation by sending an email request to the
Commercial Contract Manager, Customer
Connection Manager or Designer.
•Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks member
of staff will liaise directly with the Designer, System
Planning and where relevant, Network Planning
team to ensure the solution is still appropriate and
your project meets requirements for a re-validation.
Extending and Re-validating your connection quotation
•If the Connection quotation cannot be re-validated,
we will email you within 10 working days to inform
you that re-validation is not possible and ask whether
you wish us to carry out a new network study and
provide a new quote.
•If the quotation can be re-validated, we will
email you to confirm, with a revised copy of the
Connection Quotation within 10 working days.
* Should the quotation become interactive with others the Application
