1. Call to order—7:02pm
2. Approve June 13 , Board meeting minutes—Minutes approved

3. Reports of Officers;
Molly Goff, President—discussed 2016-2017 calendar of events; discussed training options from WA
PTA, requirement is that all elected officers attend one meeting, with at least one person attending
PTA and the Law;
Carrie Crane, Vice President—Walking Track—Susie reported that it’s getting done and should be
done before school starts, district added sand to back field for drainage
Denicia Price, Treasurer—reviewed treasurer’s report, 3 Paypal swipers ordered a couple weeks ago,
plus a card reader for the phone. We should upload the mobile app. Denicia working with Paypal to
determine what we want the link to look like on the website. Waiting for feedback from Ali because
of her experience with Square, and more information regarding if there is a fee for us to use a 3rd
party vendor to make the link on our website. Heather mentioned that we should make sure that we
only accept verified addresses through Paypal, to prevent fraud claims.

Secretary, Roshelle Lee (absent) Kami Smith will be taking minutes in place of Roshelle Lee.
4. Report from committee chairs;
Kami Smith, Volunteer Coordinator and Literacy Chair—reviewed volunteer form with board
Stefanie Gade, Legislature chair—meeting regional leg. chair in first week of Sept—WA PTA leg. goals-1. Fully funding Mcleary (law to fully fund education) 2. Create positive school climate through social
and emotional learning 3. Increase capital funding 4. Increase access to higher education 5. Breakfast
after the bell; legislative assembly in October
Amy Sachwitz and Ally Reeves (absent) Co- Membership—goal to have 100% teacher/staff
participation, so made cost $10 for teachers, plus an option for parents to donate teacher
membership. Included a section for scholarships as well. Passed around Membership flyer for review.
Soliciting local businesses for raffle gifts during Open House.
5. Reports from standing committees
Heather Speers: Spirit wear—Reviewed Spirit Wear designs and prices, no need to charge taxes if we
sell this as a fundraiser and give 501c3 to shirt company, added Explorer Boy shirt to go with Explorer
Girl, samples will be in by Open House, We will give a catalog to staff to order spirit wear if they want
something other than what we’re offering.
Heather Speers—Garden Club—Susie Black said Bonney Lake High has a green house, so Heather is
going to check theirs out. Still looking into greenhouse options at this point.
6. Vote to reallocate additional funds to cover Emergency kits—need to replace food and batteries in all
the kits. Food for all the kids would be $1230.90, if ordered from Costco. No pricing for batteries at
this point. Kits should cover 30 kids. Perhaps have a booth at Open House to donate money toward
Emergency Kits. Motion made by Carrie Crane, seconded by Denicia Price, unanimous vote in favor of
moving money.
7. Discuss future Board meeting dates, times, and locations, decide dates, and times for general
membership meetings—General Membership meetings from 6-7pm on Thursdays on the dates in the
calendar of events. Board Meetings—2nd Monday of each month at 7pm.
Calendar discussion—Walk-a-thon assembly needs to be customized for K-2 and 3-5. Have chair
contact Susie Black
8. Discuss board emails—“position”@donaldeismannpta.org
9. Discuss Facebook page, open vs closed—Susie requested to make the FB page open, so that anyone
can access the page, but admins are the only ones who can post. Board approved this change.
10. What should be added to current donaldeismannpta.org page—the whole back to school packet;
PDFs of board positions and chair positions and Treasurer form, etc.; Legislative info as available; NOT
the principal message because it frequently is just reminders about upcoming events rather than a
message to the PTA
11. Discuss current PTA logo—change logo to match what is on the district website? Table discussion
for a later date.
12. Open House—how to set up flow? –Put all the sign-ups on one form. Make it a handout that they
can take home and send in the first week of school. Get into the commons at 3pm that day to set up.
Bring table cloths. Molly filling out a facilities request for 3pm in the gym.
13. New Business—forward board emails to Jami.
Open House Packet—use simple graphics and fonts for flyers for school to print and
send home. Membership, Volunteer, Spirit Wear, Popcorn—Kami and Amy are
working on this to send to Jami and Susie asap for approval.
Include Picture permission on PTA Membership form, or have Sal Orso make a sign
that says “Attendance at this event gives PTA permission to take your picture.”
Booboos and Bagels (Kindergarten Parents event on Sept 12)—at the Post, Newland is
donating refreshments (coffee and pastries) for just kindergarten parents 8:45-9:45am
on Sept 12th. Board members attend if they can.
