Scoring Computer Upgrade Overview
The Scoring Computer upgrade will involve replacing the mother board, power supply, hard drive and
miscellaneous cables.

Removal of Components
1. Before removing the COM 1 ribbon cables connected to the motherboard label it “COM 1”.
Refer to Figure 2.

2. Repeat step 1 for the COM 2 ribbon cables connected to the COM2 card. Refer to Figure 2.
3. Remove the COM 2 card and discard.

4. Remove the audio phono jack from green connector. Refer to Figure 3.

5. Remove the scoring computer reset cable from the “ATX-SW” location on the mother board.
Refer to Figure 4.

6. Remove and discard the external Ethernet card. Refer to Figure 5.

7. Disconnect all the power cables from the power supply and remove the power supply from the
case. Refer to Figure 6.

IMPORTANT!: Retain the FOUR screws.

8. Remove all the cables from the hard drive and remove the hard drive and bracket from the case.
9. Some of the metal pieces from the hard drive bracket will need to be saved to install the new hard
drive.
IMPORTANT!: Retain all the screws for installation of the new hard drive. Refer to Figure 7.
a. Remove the three screws securing the side plate to the hard drive.
b. Remove the four screws securing the hard drive to the bracket and discard. Refer to Figure 7.

c. Remove the two screws securing the bracket to the handle plate. Discard the bracket and save the two screws. Refer to Figure 8.

d. Use the two screws saved in step c to install the new hard drive assembly and bracket to the
handle and handle plate. Refer to Figure 9.

NOTE!: Install the bracket with the bent edge toward the thumb screw.
e. Use the three screws saved in step a to install the side plate to the new hard drive assembly.

10. Remove remaining Video 3PCBs and ribbon cables to remove mother board.
IMPORTANT!: Video 3 PCBs must have firmware version 7014.

11. With the power supply and the hard drive removed from the case, remove the motherboard by
removing the six screws securing the mother board to the case. Refer to Figure 11.
IMPORTANT!: Retain the SIX screws for installation of new motherboard.

Installation of New Components
1. Install the new mother board, 57-863399-400 with nine screws, 11-012270-015. Refer to
Figure 12.

2. Install the new power supply, 57-863316-000. Make sure to adjust the voltage selector to the
proper voltage. Refer to Figure 13.

3. Install the new hard drive assembly. Refer to Figure 14.

4. Install the dual DB-9 card, 57-501074-003. ( the dual DB-9 card is packaged with the motherboard). Refer to Figure 15.
NOTE: Install in the second slot.

a. Install “COM 1” ribbon cable to the first DB-9 connector on the card. Near the screw to
secure the card. Refer to Figure 16.

b. Install the “COM 2” ribbon cable to the second DB-9 connector.
Refer to Figure 16.
c. From the dual DB-9 card, install COM 1 to the mother board at J16, COM 1 connector.

d. Repeat step c for COM 2 to the mother board at J7, COM 2.

5. Install the audio cable to the green audio jack. Refer to Figure 18.

6. Install the main power switch to the “ATX-SW” connector on the mother board. Refer to Figure 18.

7. Install the video 3 PCBs in slot 4 and slot 6 on the mother board. Two Video 3 PCBs configuration includes lower LCD touch screens for the scorer. One Video 3 PCBs configuration is for
overheads only (use slot 4). Refer to Figure 20.

8. Install the SATA cable, 57-501074-002 to the hard drive (the SATA cable is packaged with the
mother board). At the mother board connect to “SATA 0”. Refer to Figures 21 and 22.

9. Install all the power cables from the power supply to the mother board, hard drive, primary patch
panel, and LCD interface PCB (Only for touch screen lower scorers).
10. Install the ribbon cables to the mother board, from the video 3 PCB, primary patch panel, and
LCD interface PCB (Only for touch screen lower scorers).
