Pastor’s Corner
Dear Parishioners,
The First Sunday of Lent this past week was a special day for me due to being installed as your new pastor,
priest servant for the good people of the Church of the Sacred Heart. Know that I am deeply blessed and
honored to accept this role and responsibility for you, my new faith family in Oxford. Your welcome expressed in many ways since my arrival and your grand hospitality to all on installation Sunday was admirable and appreciated. The liturgy and meal were divine!
As stated at Mass, it was not just a special day for me but a special day for all of us because we are all
called, consecrated, and commissioned by virtue of our baptism to work together to do the Lord’s work in
making our parish community, vital and vibrant now, and for generations to come. May our good Lord
guide and strengthen our energy and efforts to respond to today’s pastoral reality and as being known as a
welcoming, worshipping, and witnessing catholic community of faith.
I invite you to walk with me and work with me in the days and months ahead for together we can all do
something beautiful for God in God’s world. In the next few months I will be meeting chairpersons of
various groups, teams, ministries and councils in order to learn about the parish and what is needed or
dreamed of for the parish community in days and years ahead. One thing, I will be offering in the future
and hopefully by Pentecost Sunday, is a Ministry Fair Sunday sign-up day so that we can all build and
nourish the parish community in the future. More information about ministry fair Sunday will be forthcoming.
Again, this is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad.
Peace, In Christ
Father Mike

Eucharistic Adoration—Lent
After the Last Supper, Jesus went with His friends to the Garden of Gethsemani and there
He asked them, “Could you not watch one hour with me?” (Mt 26: 40). This is the same
invitation that Jesus asks us. So, instead of giving up “treats” this Lent, why not consider
spending some personal, quiet time with Our Lord Jesus Christ. He is always waiting for
you and speaks to you in the silence.
Eucharistic Adoration is open to all and is held every Tuesday from 8 am to 7 pm. Nothing is needed to
do this but an open heart to Jesus Christ. You may come at anytime and stay for any length of time. However, If you are interested in becoming an adorer, or would like to know more about Eucharistic
Adoration, you may contact Joann Di Liberto at 610 932 8962 or you may leave your contact information
in the steel box in the Narthex, next to the Status of the Sacred Heart, and Joann will contact you.
