Summer Term 2015
Welcome back,
I do hope everyone had the chance to enjoy the beautiful weather over the Easter break and that everyone is feeling rested and relaxed ready for the new term.
Summer term is always an incredibly busy one and whilst there are lots of fun
events happening we also have lots of children doing final preparations for statutory assessments which take place in the coming weeks. Please give your
child the best possible chance to do well by ensuring that they attend school
every day.

Trips and visits
Friends of Morley Quiz
Thank you to everyone who helped
with the Year 4 visit to West Stow and
also the Year 3 visit to the Fitzwilliam
museum in the last week of term.
The Morley Quiz will take place at 7.30
pm on Saturday 25th April. Doors
open at 7pm for teams to set up their
table and lay out food and drinks they
might want to bring.
Making learning irresistible means finding ways to capture children’s imagination or stimulate their curiosity and visits are an important part of this.
Tickets are available from the office.
Tickets cost £5.00. They can be bought
as individual tickets or as a team of 6
Visiting Teachers
Morley is a great school with lots of good practice to share. Today we opened our
doors to colleagues from other schools as part of an ongoing professional development course we are hosting on behalf of the teaching school alliance led by Mrs
Darby. Our visiting teachers were impressed with all of the classes they visited and
we are delighted to be a part of a project aimed at developing great teaching
across the authority.
Well done to Burgundy Class who are this week’s ‘class of the week’ because they
have:

worked exceptionally hard on their writing

researched a mini-topic on the body and keeping healthy

written a Staying Healthy booklet which included facts and
diagrams

worked hard in PE completing 1-minute fitness challenges

kept their classroom tidy and taken care of resources

tried really hard to improve at everything they do
