Synopsis (1000 characters) Yorgos, a well-known hooligan of the Olympiacos football team’s fan club, known as the RED HULK, is unwittingly involved in the murder of a Pakistani immigrant together with a gang of neo-Nazis. Awash in guilt, afraid of the police, and desiring to leave the neo-Nazis, he first turns to his best friend Nikos, also a member of the Olympiacos fan club, for sanctuary, then resorts to his parents at the village, both in vain, as he feels that nobody understands his situation. He returns to Athens, where he finds out that the murder has been covered up. He then starts hanging out with his colleague, Stathis, hoping to lead a more normal life, however, when Stathis complains about his behavior towards him, Yorgos, who cannot take any criticism, shrugs him away. Feeling rejected by his peers, with the pressure from the neoNazis growing, Yorgos returns to the neo-Nazi gang, fully aware of what’s ahead. Brief description of the script’s excerpt within the film’s story A couple of days after his involvement in the murder of a Pakistani immigrant, awash in guilt and afraid of getting caught by the police, Yorgos turns to his best friend Nikos at the Olympiacos fans’ clubhouse. Nikos gets mad at him, reminds him that he had warned him about the Neo Nazis, and tells him to stay away from him. On the same day, Yorgos reads in the News that the body of the Pakistani victim is found by the police and gets scared. Knowing that the neo-Nazis are connected with the police, something which may help cover up the murder, Yorgos returns to them, thinking that they will protect him even without his having to take part in the organized racist assaults. When he realizes that this is not the case he decides to escape and leaves hastily to his family at the village. This is the end of Act I, in which the first act turning point (Yorgos has to take part in the next racist assault) leads to his decision (Yorgos leaves hastily to his family at the village) pushing the story into the next act (Act II), into a new arena (family - village) and raising the central question again1: ‘Will Yorgos manage to get away from the neo-Nazi group and get away with the murder?’ 1 According to Linda Seger, the first act turning point ‘turns the action in a new direction. It raises the central question again and makes us wonder about the answer. It often requires a decision or commitment on the part of the main character. It raises the stakes. It pushes the story into the next act. It takes the audience into a new arena, where a character’s actions may be seen with a new focus’ (Seger 2013). References: L, Seger. (2013).
