The DNA fragment 718 bp is not present in

stoichiometric amount due to circular permutation of the genome. The 718 bp and 710 bp DNA fragments run as one
band. In agarose gels where the 710 bp and the 718 bp DNA fragment
can be resolved, the 718 bp DNA fragment with approx. 20% the intensity
of the 710 bp DNA fragment, can be distinguished.* The 81 bp DNA fragment is only visible on overloaded gels. The DNA fragment mixture shows
the typical pattern with 15 bands after agarose gel electrophoresis.

RNA Molecular Weight Markers
RNA Molecular Weight Markers consist of a mixture of RNA fragments of defined length for use as size standards in
RNA gel electrophoresis. The fragments are prepared by in vitro transcription of linearized plasmids with either SP6 or
T7 RNA polymerases in separate reactions. The transcripts are then combined in a ratio so that a banding pattern with
even intensty in gel electrophoresis is ensured.
