Before you arrive for your appointment, procedure or
hospital admission, please talk with your physician
about your anticipated services and how long you can
expect to be in the hospital if you are admitted.
Knowing the details can help you understand your bill
and financial responsibilities for your care. Talk with your
insurance carrier to ensure your procedures will be covered by your plan. Knowing the details can help make
your payment easier for you and more manageable.
Medical costs are often unanticipated and not all costs
are covered by insurance. Copays, co-insurance and
deductibles are requested at the time of service.
Phoebe’s financial representatives can help with
payment plans and in some cases, financial assistance
programs for those patients who qualify.
They can also help you understand your bill, answer
insurance questions on accepted plans, offer financial
counseling, assist you with payment plan arrangements, and accept your payment in the form of cash,
check, major credit card, or debit card.
Please take a moment to review this
billing information:
Our financial representatives can give you an estimate
of your bill. They can also estimate co-pays, co-insurance obligations and deductibles before you come to
the hospital for procedures and establish payment
plans if needed. If you are uninsured or there are other
circumstances qualifying you for financial assistance,
you may apply for charity care or discounted fees
based on your family income. The financial services
representative will provide you with information explaining the process to apply for either of these programs, along with his or her business card and a copy
of our payment and assistance policies.
For your convenience, our patient account representatives will file your primary, secondary, and tertiary in-
surances. You will receive an itemized bill of all
services provided. Upon receipt of the final insurance
payment on your account, you will be informed of
any balances you owe.

Checking Your Insurance
Your registration process will be made easier if you
have all the required information:
• picture ID
• health insurance identification card, and
Medicare and/or Medicaid card
Please contact your insurance carrier to obtain
authorization for your services and to verify whether
a second opinion is necessary. It is each patient’s personal responsibility to obtain insurance authorization
prior to services. Prior authorization numbers should
be presented to the Registration department prior to
or at the time of admission. In some cases, health
policies require the patient to pay a certain amount
before benefits will apply.
