When it’s too cold for other herbicides to be effective,
Defendor™ specialty herbicide provides early season
control of unsightly dandelions, clover and other annual
and perennial broadleaf weeds. Defendor gives lawn care
operators and golf course superintendents a head start
on broadleaf weed control and more time to complete
the first applications of the season. Labeled for use on
both cool- and warm-season turf, Defendor offers powerful
post-emergence broadleaf weed control in a convenient
sprayable formulation.

How Defendor Works
Defendor, with the active ingredient florasulam, is a
systemic herbicide that is absorbed via leaves, shoots and
roots of susceptible broadleaf weeds. It works as an ALS
inhibitor, preventing enzyme synthesis and cell division.
When applied early in the season, growth of susceptible
weeds will be stunted immediately and effective control will
be seen in two to four weeks.
Weeds Controlled
When applied at the labeled rate to small, actively growing
Defendor can be tank-mixed with Dimension® 2EW
weeds, Defendor provides effective post-emergence
specialty herbicide and applied at the same time lawn
control of both annual and perennial broadleaf weeds,

DEFENDOR™
Turf Recommendations
Defendor™ specialty herbicide is recommended for use on
most established cool- and warm-season turfgrass. On
golf courses, it can be used on fairways and roughs, but
is not labeled for use on greens or tees. Labeled turfgrass
species include:

How to Apply
Defendor can be applied in late fall to early spring when
the weather is cool and before dandelion bloom for effective
broadleaf weed control. Best weed control results are
obtained when applied to small, actively growing weeds.
Defendor is formulated as a suspension concentrate and
can be applied as a standard-volume broadcast application,
low-volume application or spot treatment. For standard-volume
broadcast applications, apply with a sufficient water volume
(20 gallons per acre or more) to ensure complete and
uniform coverage.
Tank-Mixing
Defendor can be tank-mixed with compatible liquid fertilizers and
other products, such as Dimension 2EW, to increase spectrum
of control. When tank-mixing, follow label directions,
including application rates, use precautions and limitations
on each respective label. Continuous agitation is required
for tank mixes.
