Bishop Anthony R. Obey, Senior Pastor
Dr. Denise Surratt-Williams, an agent of change,
has a history of leadership in many levels. Her skills
offer a unique blend of effectiveness in management,
teaching/facilitating, mentoring, development and
strategic planning, writing, as well as sought after
motivational speaking. Contributions to her
community and the surrounding ones have brought
her many accolades and have recognized her as a
great leader who is able to capture her audiences’
attention with God-given insight and motivation.
That audience includes churches such as Christian
Heritage Worship Center (strategic church
planning), former group mentor for Christian
Women’s Job Corp (CWJC), Salvation Army,
Recap Services and Heart to Heart Ministry, and
also founder of homeless ministry called, As One Ministries.
In addition to working with the communities for more than 30 years, Dr. Williams
has been certified for over seven years as a facilitator for Preventive Services, a state
based substance abuse program for Middle Schools through High Schools, as well as
communities. The names of the programs she facilitates are Project Toward No
Drugs (PTND), Project Alert, Guiding Good Choices, All Stars, I’m Special, and
Safe Date which has made her a leading facilitator in McDowell, Lincoln, and Gaston Counties.
Dr. Williams was a recent writer for daily inspirational articles that she looked forward to for the International Christian Network www.theicn.com.
She also has experience in Radio in which she wrote and directed all her Saturday
shows, “Ask D” on Rejoice Christian Radio 1370 station, now called WGIV,
Charlotte NC. She brought real stories to life with hope extending to her audience.
She has also authored several books and owns The Writers Voices Book Publishing
Company in which she facilitates writers voices workshops to assist writers discover
their dream of becoming a published author.
Her main quest in life remains to help navigate individuals through various issues for
resolve and to seek freedom to live out their purpose and destiny. She does this by
detailed needs assessment that she takes from the communities in which she teaches
and mentors, and believes that we all can triumph over any conflict given the tools to
conquer them.
Dr. Williams’ qualifications include a Doctorate degree in Christian Education from
Bethel Bible College and Seminary, Sanford North Carolina which is her proudest
educational accomplishment. Although she is well educated and has many accolades
accredited to her, she realizes that her ultimate degree and promotion comes from
God who ordains and equips her to do her job in excellence.
