Instructions
1
Print out the template on page
3 on to card. Or print out on to
paper and stick on to card.
Colour the shape in however you
like! Alternatively print out the
coloured shape on page 4.
Once you have decorated
your hat shape, turn it over
so the wrong side is facing
up. Tape or glue some
curly ribbon or strips of
crepe paper to the top
as shown. You could
even use feathers if
you like.

Turn the hat back to the decorated side. Roll the
hat shape in to a cone. This can be a bit trick so
get an adult to help.
4
Once the shape can form a cone unroll
and apply double sided tape down one
edge. Put the tape on the inside of the hat.
5
Roll back in to the cone shape placing
the edge with the double sided tape
over the top of the other side, slightly
overlapping until you have no gaps in
your cone shape. You can staple it
together if the card is thick so it holds.
6
Using a hole punch make
a hole either side of your
hat. Next, thread some
elastic through one side
and make a knot. Place
the hat on the child’s
head, then thread the
elastic through the hole
on the other side. Adjust
to the right length then
make a knot. Cut off any
extra unwanted elastic.
