Introduction
Welcome to March. How quickly has
the year gone by so far? Before we
know it, it will be the March equinox
(21st) and be officially the first day of
spring.
March is named after Mars, the
Roman god of war as it was the month
in which the military campaigning
season got under way after winter

Activities with Oomph!
Amy and Dave aim to deliver OOMPH classes 3 times a week and are continuously
changing what they do, varying the music, the location and the exercises themselves.
If you’d like to come and join in an OOMPH class and see what
happens, you are more than welcome. The more the merrier.

 Aquamarine and the
bloodstone are the
birthstones for March. Both
stones stand for courage.
 There are different reports
about the true "birth flower."
Some says it's the daffodil
and others say it's violet.

In the spotlight
Test yourself
and see if you
can figure out
some of these
tricky
questions.
1. How much dirt is there in a hole 3 feet deep, 6 ft
long and 4 ft wide?
2. If a doctor gives you 3 pills and tells you to take
one pill every half hour, how long would it take
before all the pills had been taken?
3. How can a man go eight days without sleep?
4. How can you lift an elephant with one hand?
5. Is it legal for a man to marry his widow’s sister?
6. There was an airplane crash, every single person
on board died, but yet two people survived. How is
this possible
7. What goes up and down, but still remains in the
same place?
8. How far can you walk into the woods?
9. What goes up and never comes down?
10. Which is heavier, 100 pounds of rocks or 100
pounds of feathers?
1. None, or else it wouldn’t be a hole.
2. 1 hour! Take the 1st pill right away, half an hour later take the 2nd and
half an hour after that the 3rd. Total time spent: 1 hour!
3. By sleeping through the night.
4. It is not a problem, since you will never find an elephant with one
hand.
5. No, but since he’s dead it would be kind of difficult
6. The two people were married.
7. The stairs.
8. Half way. After that you are walking out of the woods
9. Your age.
10. Neither, since both weigh 100 pounds, they both weigh the same.

Song of the Month
“Don’t sit under the apple tree (with anyone else but me) – by
The Andrews Sisters.
I wrote my mother
I wrote my father
And now I'm writing you too
I'm sure of mother
I'm sure of father
And now I wanna be sure of you
Don't sit under the apple tree with anyone else but me
Anyone else but me, anyone else but me
No, no, no
Don't sit under the apple tree with anyone else but me
Till I come marching home
Don't go walking down lovers' lane with anyone else but me
Anyone else but me, anyone else but me
No, no, no
Don't go walking down lovers' lane with anyone else but me
Till I come marching home
I just got word from a guy who heard
From the guy next door to me
The girl he met just loves to pet
And it fits you to a T
So don't sit under the apple tree with anyone else but me
Till I come marching home
Don't sit under the apple tree with anyone else but me
(With anyone else but her)
No, no, no, not a single soul but me
No, no, no, don't you sit under the apple tree with anyone else but me
Not till you see me, not until you see me marching home
Home, home, home, home sweet home

Sweetheart Swing
Tea Dance
On Monday 29th
February we held a
tea dance in the
evening as part of a
celebration for the
Leap Day. This comes
only once in 4 years
so we felt it deserved
a celebration. The
evening was filled
with laughter and
smiles, and lots and
lots of dancing.
Everyone enjoyed
some wine or a glass
of beer and listening
to the Wonderful
performance from
Tasha.

boogie to the music.
