Developers and suppliers of innovative, non-contact, precision measurement systems. Who are we? Imetrum was founded in 2003 as a spinout from the University of Bristol. More than 15 years of research & development has made us a leader in the field of video-based, non-contact precision measurement. Based on our innovative Video Gauge™ software, our measurement systems are characterised by their accuracy, operational versatility, fast and efficient work flows, high productivity and a wide range of performance benefits. Today Imetrum systems are widely used in both academia and industry around the world by customers including Formula One motorsports teams, Rolls Royce, Airbus, Network Rail and Gestamp. How Does It Work? Each system includes Video Gauge™ software, a system controller, camera(s) & lens(es) and any appropriate accessories (tripods, lights, signal interface units, etc). Our innovative Video Gauge™ software exploits proprietary sub-pixel pattern recognition algorithms that enable ultra-high resolution measurements of strain, rotation and displacement to be made. Pattern recognition techniques are used to track up to 200 points in real time and for more complex requirements, including real-time dynamic testing, it offers unsurpassed performance and flexibility. www.imetrum.com Video Gauge™ supports the use of multiple cameras for 3D measurements and also offers an intuitive control interface which includes a feature allowing post-processing and analysis to be undertaken. With the ability to monitor objects ranging in size from microns to hundreds of metres, Video Gauge™ is a versatile tool and can be used in a very wide range of applications in the laboratory or in the field. Features & Benefits • Fast, reliable data: multiple real-time measurements between user-defined points • Saves time and money: genuinely non-contact, replaces mechanical devices • Accurate – measurement resolutions to better than 0.05 µm (over a 25mm measurement range) • More data : >200 measurements points and up to 4 synchronised cameras in real time • Records video – offering versatility to post-process at your desk • Easy to use - for non-technical staff after half a days’ training Available measurements • Displacement • Extension • Distance • Angular rotation • Strain (tensile, compression, shear) • Poisson’s ratio • Stress/strain curve • Modulus • Strain Maps Applications: Structural Monitoring and Surveying Material Testing Component and Assembly Testing Imetrum have developed a range of systems specifically for real time dynamic surveying and routine monitoring of structures and civil engineering assets such as bridges, tunnels, and railway track. Used in both high-volume test and research environments our systems replace mechanical devices such as strain gauges and clip on extensometers whilst meeting the most demanding requirements for accuracy, repeatability and ultra-high resolution in the measurement of strain, rotation and displacement. The multi-point abilities of our systems have repeatedly helped engineers investigate the true behaviour of their components by measuring position, displacement, rotation, bend angle and strain, a single system can replace numerous traditional devices (such as LVDTs) to enable rapid, high-resolution measurement at multiple locations. Designed to meet the rigours of site-based monitoring challenges, testing can often be complete within an hour of arriving on site. With no need to directly access the structure, movement can be monitored under loading, without the need for possessions, traffic management, working from height or over water - leading to safer working practices and substantial time and cost savings. Our latest system for materials is optimised for routine testing and is compatible with all makes of Universal Test Machine. 01275 464 443 Global Training & Support We have developed our systems with the user in mind – in most cases they can be set up within an hour and can be operated by non-technical staff after just half a day’s training carried out at your site or at our training academy. With in-house experts in all application areas, we aim to tailor training for your specific needs and ensure that all of your requirements are fully addressed – helping you to optimise your system’s performance and gain maximum benefit from your investment. Our support teams are in place to help you realise the value in your measurement system and answer any ad-hoc queries you may have. As your requirements change and as hardware and software enhancements are introduced, our technical support team can also provide guidance by phone, email or online giving you complete peace of mind.
