Place one Fabric C-Template 1 triangle on top of one Fabric H-Template 1 triangle, right sides together, aligning the long sides (Fig. 1). Sew the two triangles together along the left side. Press the smaller triangle open to make Unit One block (Fig. 2). Repeat to make twenty-four Unit One blocks total. 6. Sew one Fabric C side strip to each side of one 6 ½” Fabric B square. Sew one 2” Fabric D square to each end of one Fabric C side strip. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew the strips to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric B square to make one Block One (Fig. 6). Following the manufacturer’s instructions, press fusible web to the wrong wide of the remainder of Fabric A. 8. Fussy cut six small patches on the printed lines from this Fabric A. 9. Refer to the quilt photo to arrange and press the six Fabric A small panels onto six 6 ½” Fabric C squares to make six A blocks (Fig. 7). Repeat to make Row Three. 14. Sew one Block Two to each side of one Block One to make Row Two. Repeat to make Row Four. 16. Sew one 1 ½” x 36 ½” Fabric F strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew one 1 ½” x 29 ½” Fabric F strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top. 17. Center one 4” x 49” Fabric A strip on one side of the quilt top and pin in place. Start sewing the strip a ¼” from the top edge of the quilt top and stop a ¼” from the bottom edge. DO NOT TRIM THE EXCESS. Repeat with the opposite side. 18. Repeat Step 17 to sew one 4” x 40” Fabric A strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top, making sure to stop and start ¼” away from each end of the quilt top. To miter each corner, fold the quilt top on a diagonal, wrong side together. This should line up the strips from adjacent sides (Fig. 9). 19. Starting at the sewn seam (represented by the arrow in Figure 9), draw a 45-degree line to the edge of the fabric. Sew on the drawn line. Trim the excess fabric leaving a ¼” seam.
