There is much uncertainty in the UK at present due
to the recent vote to leave the EU, so we have an
event later this year that will look at the impact it
may have on our work as safety practitioners.
Aside from Brexit, we’ve been working hard to put
together a full programme that caters for members’
needs across Northern Ireland, and we’re keen to
collaborate with our colleagues in the Republic of
Ireland to run a joint one-day conference in 2017.
More details on this will follow in due course.
As health is a growing priority, I would encourage
members to familiarise themselves with the work
of BuildHealth NI, as well as that of the Health in
Construction Leadership Group in the UK. Also
worth noting is the Northern Ireland Safety Group’s
(NISG) all-day event on mental health, which takes
place on 16 November.
We look forward to seeing you at our events. If
we can be of help or if you have suggestions for
any other events, please let us know and we will
consider them at our next event planning day for
the 2017–2018 programme.
