RPS GOVERNOR’S CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION ACADEMY FOR STEM IN RICHMOND STEM HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE WEEK OF November 14, 2016 Therapeutic Services Pathway Our STEM students in the Therapeutic (Medical) cluster are studying the body systems this week. Presently, we are studying the Digestive System. Students are getting insight into how what they put into their bodies has a direct correlation to how their bodies look and feel. We started with the anatomy and physiology of the digestive system. Then we studied medical terms and abbreviations, from Quizlet, associated with this system. We learned how to perform correct heights and weights on each other to determine our correct BMI and make adjustments in our eating and exercise habits accordingly. All in all, this chapter was quite beneficial to the students because it gave them information that they can use immediately.
