This week we are looking at persuasive writing. We will be looking at how different persuasive writing
techniques can be used in leaflets. At the end of the week we will be creating our own persuasive leaflets
about habitat destruction.
Can you research what habitats are being destroyed and why? What animals are becoming endangered
because they are losing their habitat?
Using your research and learning from your lessons write some rhetorical questions you could use to help
stop habitat destruction?
Experts — Write a short persuasive paragraph using some of your rhetorical questions about habitat loss.
Remember to also include emotive language and catchy phrases.

This week we have looked at artefacts from the Shang Dynasty era and
compared them to modern day equivalents. Can you compare how
travel has changed through the ages from the Shang Dynasty Era to
modern day. Remember you can include diagrams to support your
writing
Science
This week is Science week in school. As part of Science week there will be a science
fair on Thursday 19th January where your projects will be presented. The hand-in
date is Tuesday 17th January. Your projects must based around our topic of Living
things and their habitats. You can choose between one of the following three:
1) Life cycles of koala, snakes, Siberian tiger, panda, penguins, rhinos, lions, gorillas
or any other animal of interest.
2) Why are the ……………….. becoming ENDANGERED ANIMALS and how can we help
to save them: Hawksbill Turtle, Leatherback Turtle, Rhino, Gorilla, Orangutan,
African wild dog, or any other endangered animal.
3) Why did the…………………………… disappear (EXTINCT ANIMALS): dodo, mammoth
or any other extinct animal.
