with friends, drinking beer and illegally
setting off explosives. Hell, someone in
my neighborhood has been up to the latter for almost a week now. The first one
got me real good. Thought it was gunfire
and I am not too proud to admit that I
immediately hit the deck. Of course, in
the last two days, it has become so routine that I wouldn’t flinch at actual gunfire. Gotta love those loud boomer things
that people get a hold of.
News
It’s the middle of summer already which is hard to believe with the
fantastic weather we have been having
the last few days. And apparently the
lower humidity greatness is suppose to
continue throughout the holiday weekend. The end of June also brings a close
(almost) to this year’s Dunk Tank Fundraiser. We would like to thank everyone
who came out and supported the cause.
We had a pretty successful year but we
do not have the final numbers on how
much money was raised yet. We still
need a couple people to pick up auction
items and we still have a few T-shirts for
sale for anyone who was not able to get
one that day. If you are interested in purchasing a shirt, shoot us an email at the
bar or stop by and we will let you know
what sizes we have left.
So what’s next at Maloneys, you
might ask. First up we have UFC 116
which should be an awesome fight to
unite the heavyweight titles. Then the
following Saturday, we are bringing you
Jamaica in July with fabulous grill items
and drink specials. But more about that
later from Chef Jeff. Then on Monday
the 19th we have our golf tournament
with Close Quarters. And mark your calendars because Maloneys will be closed
for the 4th of July holiday. I know we
never close but hey even our staff needs
a full day of laying by the pool, bbqing

Lesnar defends his title against interim
belt holder Carwin. Carwin won the
interim belt from Mir while Lesnar was
being treated for mononucleosis among
other things. But anyway, Lesnar has finally made it back, is healthy and determined to reunite the belts. Carwin is undefeated and wants to remain that way.
In the prediction polls Carwin is favored
to beat the champ but he only has 51%
of the vote.
As of right now it looks like we
will be having beautiful wether for the
holiday weekend in Kansas City so bring
your stay-cation party to Maloneys and
watch these fights live from our patio. We
will have the usual Pork Chop and Mac
& cheese special that is quickly becoming a crowd favorite. And don’t forget to
try our chocolate and peanut butter with
waffle cone ice cream special this month.
It’s fantastic! (Not that I’ve been sneaking any, of course).

UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin
Finally! The fight everyone has
been waiting for. The undisputed heavyweight championship is on the line when
The Maloneys/Close Quarters
Golf Tournament is nearing and we
are expecting a full crowd. We do have
some spots open, and the official sign up
deadline is not until the 12th. However,
try to get your sign-up forms in a little
earlier this year to reserve your spot because with all the talk and buzz we have
handed out a ton of those sign-up forms.
Once again, the cost per team is $400
and the money raised will go to the John
Glaser Memorial Fund. Included in the
price is the cost of golf fees, carts, gift
bag, food, and drinks (and of course
when I say drinks I mean beer too). I’m
sure there will be plenty of booze around
for anyone who needs a cocktail. I don’t
golf but I’ve heard from some people that
a couple coldies is just part of the game...
like fishing. Wow, that’s what my Dad
was doing all those years ... He always
said he was going fishing, but he never

seemed to catch any... hmmm... I should
call him later. Anyway, back to golf. We
are looking forward to seeing everyone
who can make it out there and we are
keeping our fingers crossed that there is
no massive storms rolling in around 1pm
on Monday the 19th.
Letters from the Chef:

plantains and papaya rice pilaf! And to
finish this awesome food off, I am making about five different authentic sauces
to accompany including diablo sauce,
tropical BBQ and a dark rum butter
sauce. I know I can’t give you a fat doobie that night or threaten to kidnap your
children, but I think with the daiquiris
(strawberry included of course), the food
and scantily clad woman we can give you
an awesome Jamaican experience.
Chef Jeff
p.s:. We will also be making “dirty” banana daiquiris but I’m not going to tell
you what it is. You’ll just
have to come try one.
Thanks again from Maloneys and the Kansas Boobtrotters for making this
year’s Dunk Tank a success!
