In the complex environments of established networks,
the engineering tasks of planning, design and
optimisation become more and more difficult to
perform, using traditional methods.
Networks subjected to rapid deployment often suffer,
over the years, from inaccurate implementation and
reduced actual capacity and network performance as
a result. This phenomenon is caused by the optimizers
and planners not having an accurate model of the
physical configuration of the network, and as a result
their efforts are diluted.
TIA Precision Optimisation
After the Network BluePrint, advanced AFP and ACP
techniques and tools are employed to maximise speed
and provide improved quality, capacity and
redundancy in to the RF network.
Mapping the precise physical site, link and node
configurations and capacities with the required and
modelled performance allows for guided automated
design, precision optimisation throughout the system,
centralisation of resources and the evolution to Selfordering network tools and processes.
Historically, projects carried out by TIA across the US
and Africa have shown that huge discrepancies exist
in all networks between the required design
configuration and the physical configuration in the
network (lowest measured discrepancy was 86%).
Optimising anything is an impossible task if the
current configuration and design status is
uncertain.

TIA Network BluePrint
An accurate database is the cornerstone to producing
predictable network behaviour and consistent design
decisions. In order to obtain the most accurate data of
the site elements, TIA uses a computerised antenna
alignment tool which will ensure the standardization and
accuracy of measurements.
Following the delivery and establishment of a superiorly
accurate database, network blueprinting is a priority.
This allows the network to be implemented exactly as
the designers require, providing a baseline for
improvement with very small tolerances
Matching the design to the actual site
configuration, allowing efficient optimisation and
effective future designs.
A fully blueprinted network will already deliver reduced
interference, enhanced quality and capacity and more
efficient use of the available bandwidth. Reductions in
signalling load result in a better customer experience as
well.
Precision optimisation leads to a 25 to 30%
improvement in quality measures and will increase
the traffic carrying capability and efficiency of the
network by between 11% and 25%.

Modern ACP and AFP tools,
including measurement based
tools, and processes are critically
