2011 Public Address Announcer Job Description
Rancho Cucamonga Quakes Baseball Team:
The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes are a Class A Advanced baseball team affiliated with the Los Angeles
Dodgers and compete in the California League. The owners of the Quakes also own and operate three other
sports teams, including the Spokane Chiefs Hockey Club, the Spokane Indians Baseball Team and the TriCity Dust Devils Baseball Team. This is an excellent opportunity to become a part of the Brett Sports
organization.
Position in the Corporate Structure:
The PA Announcer is the main voice of the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes while in the Epicenter. The PA
Announcer works closely with the Sponsorship Department, including, but not limited to, the Vice
President/General Manager, Director of Sponsorships, Public Relations Manager and the Sports Marketing
Consultant, and answer directly to the Director of Promotions.

Strong vocal talent
A unique and definitive personality
Strong knowledge of baseball, including rules and positions
Ability to multi-task in a stressful environment
Comfortable announcing to crowds of over 4,000 people on a microphone
Comfortable announcing complex names from a variety of ethnic backgrounds
Able to attend all home Quakes baseball games and arrive 1.5 hours before the gates open for each
game
Available to attend appropriate pre-game meetings
Receptive to both positive and negative feedback
Ability to be spontaneous and react quickly as appropriate
Comfortable working closely with Director of Promotions, Game Day Director and all Quakes fulltime staff members
Experience working as a PA announcer in collegiate or professional sports is preferred

The PA Announcer will be required to attend all 70 Quakes home games, including a preseason exhibition
game and any playoff games. This includes nights and weekends.

Interview and auditions with selected candidates will be contacted the week of March 21st. Selected
candidates will be expected to fill the position of PA announcer starting with the Quakes Exhibition game on
