Priority Mail® Open and Distribute™ (PMOD) and Express Mail® Open and Distribute™ (EMOD) from the
U.S. Postal Service® expedite the transportation of hundreds or thousands of presorted letters, postcards,
or small packages by using Priority Mail or Express Mail to quickly and affordably send the mailings to a
Destination Delivery Unit for processing.
Endicia’s software* guides users quickly and easily through the pre-sorting process. Not only can address
lists be validated online and personalized postage included as needed, but critical PMOD-required postage
forms are automatically pre-filled.
Endicia software works with PC or Mac and supports many
sizes and types of labels, envelopes and postcards, allowing
users to produce customized direct mail orders, while staying
in compliance with all postal regulations.
Using PMOD/EMOD is easy!
• Place addressed postage-paid and presorted mail pieces in PMOD
or EMOD approved containers.
• Use Endicia software to print the special PMOD or EMOD shipping
label with postage and service barcodes.
• Deliver the PMOD or EMOD containers to your Bulk Mail Entry Unit
(BMEU) with the standard paperwork (e.g. postage statement).
U.S. Postal Service takes care of the rest!
• USPS ships the PMOD/EMOD containers with the Endicia labels
to the appropriate destination mail processing facility at Priority or
Express Mail speed.
• USPS opens the containers and distributes the mail pieces to local
recipients.
• PMOD/EMOD feature available with select Endicia software plans.
