Ready to help customers take full advantage
of summer? We’re doing our part by offering a
special instant ticket coupon to encourage traffic
to your store. The coupon, mailed to one million
households statewide, provides current and potential customers with a
free $5 instant ticket of their choice with the purchase of a $10 instant
game. Details can be found on page 3. The promotion begins May
23.
Then, starting June 1, Keno-loving customers will enjoy the Lottery’s
second release of the Keno Double Win promotion. Every 20th ticket
purchased statewide will have all prizes doubled if it’s a winner. See
page 14 to learn more.
Now to practical matters – this month, the Lottery is moving to a new
online license renewal system via www.ohiolottery.com. As a result,
all renewals will now be done online. As usual, you’ll receive a letter in
the mail 30 days in advance to remind you of the need to take care of
license renewal. Included with that letter will be instructions on how
to complete the process online. We also provided some pointers in this
issue of Ticket Seller. Take a look and save this information for use as
your license renewal comes up. We think you’ll like the efficiency and
reduced paperwork too.
In other practical matters, in this issue's Taking Care of Business
segment, you’ll learn more about the occasional large pay receipts
that multiple winning wagers can generate. To protect your cash flow,
we’ve included instructions on how to set a cash confirmation screen
so you can ensure you have the cash to pay.

Get ready for a sweet summer deal. This month, one million households statewide will receive
a special coupon offer from the Ohio Lottery. Coupon holders can take home a free $5 instant
ticket of their choice, with the purchase of any $10 instant game at your store.
The coupon offer runs from May 23 to June 18.
Help customers pick one of your instant game
favorites and have some fun!
Coupon processing tips:
•Scan the coupon barcode.
•Key in the last five digits of the validation number.
•Give your customer the coupon validation receipt.
•Provide your customer with the free $5 instant ticket.
Coupon accounting

Unique circumstances
Longtime retailers understand that Ohio Lottery prizes of up to $599 are paid
at retail. What is sometimes misunderstood is that retailers pay up to $599
per wager, and winning tickets can have multiple winning wagers.
What happens if a Lottery ticket has multiple winners?
Keno and Pick 3 are two games where multiple wins are more common. Any
Lottery ticket with multiple winning wagers, each up to $599, can push the
total payout above $599. Once validated, those tickets must be paid at retail.
That happened recently to a Mahoning County retailer. A customer presented
a multi-draw Keno ticket. That ticket had two winning wagers matching all five
numbers on a 5-spot Keno play. (Each winning wager was worth $410.)
The cash confirmation screen alerted the retailer to the $820 payout. Not
understanding what that meant, the retailer went ahead and validated the
ticket, producing a $820 pay receipt. The retailer thought the customer could
take the winning ticket and receipt to a quick cash site to cash the prize.

begins this month
Get ready. This month, the Ohio Lottery begins a new, simpler
way for you to complete your annual license renewal. All
retailers are now required to use online renewal.
You’ll find online license renewal easy and convenient.
Here are some pointers to help you get started.
Need to Register for an Account?
Go to www.ohiolottery.com.
Click “For Retailers” at the top of homepage.
On the left menu bar, under “Retailers” click on "License
Renewals & Updates" and then "Renew or Update a
License."
Click “Create an account.” Type in your six-digit retailer
number and click “Search Principals.”
You’ll see a list of principals associated with your business.
Select yourself. Type in the last four digits of your social
security number and fill out the required fields.
(Note: these are all fields with an asterisk.)
Accept the terms and conditions. Click “Register”
and you’ve created your account.

system, or if you have a MyLotto Rewards® or Cash Explosion
account, the login and password you use will serve as your login
credentials for online license renewal.

Ricky Rhinebolt of Mansfield has his wife to thank for winning $5 million
in the March 8 Mega Millions drawing. Ricky was about to change up his
old auto pick numbers, which he had been playing for years, until his wife
encouraged him to keep playing those numbers. Well, five of those numbers
came up March 8. Since he added the Megaplier, his 5-of-5 win came to $5
million. He says he has no immediate plans for the money, except for paying
off bills and possibly buying a new home.
