College will attempt to
lose a combined weight
of 12st 2lbs to raise
money for Macmillan
Cancer Support.
The
team,
nicknamed Tina’s Tubby
Troopers, aim to lose
the weight by April 17
and hope to raise as
much as possible for the
charity after already
surpassing their target
figure of £500.
Alison Upton, learner
records administrator
for the college on
Thornborough Road, is
taking part in the challlenge.
She said: “The lady
we are doing this for is
a very popular colleague at the college
and we are really excited about raising as
much money as possible
for the charity.
“We all have our own
personal target weight
to lose which adds up to
the combined total.
“We are all doing different things to lose it
including dieting, walking and just cutting
down on the chocolates
and alcohol.
“Anybody may need
the
support
of
MacMillan and they do
a fantastic job supporting those with cancer.
“It is just a great

lost 3st 3lbs in weight.

pounds by donating
pounds.”
The ladies are hoping
to present a cheque to
the charity in April just
before Easter.
Jo-Anne
Wilson,

“The fundraising that
the ladies are doing is
amazing.
“They have really
committed to the task
in hand and are doing
so well to have raised a
fantastic
amount
already, not to mention
their brilliant weight
loss.
“I would like to thank
them for supporting
Macmillan as it is
through brilliant people
like
them
that
Macmillan can continue
to support people affected by cancer.”
