Time for a change
JANUARY 2013
As easy as a vase
At the beginning of every year, people long for
and welcome change, but for many it’s one of
the hardest times financially. A tight budget
doesn’t have to mean changes at home are
impossible.
One of the easiest ways to make a room feel
renewed and refreshed is by adding a collection
of fresh plants and glass vases. Mix and match
the playful, coloured glass of OLIK vases on a
windowsill or fill a SOCKER greenhouse with a
variety of small plants and herbs. There’s always
a vase or two at IKEA for your budget, style and
space. They’re versatile and beautiful, especially
with whatever flowers and greenery you can
find.

It’s tree swap time
Keep the ‘in touch with nature’ feeling that
comes during the holidays by swapping one
tree for another. Not only do they add life
(and oxygen) to a room, trees and big plants can
work visually as room dividers, too.
Look for big plant pots with easy-to-move
handles like DADEL or RÅGKORN as well as
vertical plant stands like IKEA PS 2012 plant
stand and even side tables like IKEA PS 2012
SIDE TABLE with built-in plant pots.

Spice up the sofa
Never underestimate the power of cushions!
Whether you’re changing the cover or buying a
few new ones, cushions breathe new life into a
sofa or armchair. And they’re comfortable, too
– no assembly necessary. Find a colour that’s
already in the room to coordinate with like the
blues in the IKEA STOCKHOLM cushion or MALIN
FRANSAR. Go for a pattern that’s bold to make
the sofa pop like the bright rainbow of colours on
the SKARUM cushion cover. Or just go for cushions that make you smile. Whatever you choose,
it’s hard to go wrong with a cushion.
