It is truly amazing how much this organization has grown from a club of 7 moms to a club of 234 moms. It’s also hard to imagine how many friendships have been formed and how many moms have been helped. When I think back to my own PAMOM experience, it all started in January 2011. I was five months pregnant, and during a sonogram my live changed drastically. The doctor announce that I was not carrying twins, but rather I was carrying triplets. I was in a state of complete shock! I consulted and cried to a fellow mom of triplets; she told me everything was going to be alright and to contact PAMOM. I’m so glad I did! Through PAMOM, I was immediately TREASURER Sandy Bobo PAMOM Treasurer MOM to: Abigail & Heath (8/13/10) setup with a mentor, JoSue. I’m not sure I could have made it without a mentor by myside! My mentor experience was so valuable that I decided to sign up for VP of Helping Hands last year. I had a great year of getting to know new moms and encouraging new mentors but I felt like I could do more. PAMOM means more to me than just mentors; it also means support, friendship, community service, volunteer and leadership opportunities. I am humbled and honored to step up to serve as your 2015-2016 President, and I promise to uphold all of those values. Outside of PAMOM, I am a mom to three beautiful children: Adam, Sami and Zeina. I am also a 4th grade teacher and an aspiring photographer. Since Father’s Day is just around the corner, I would like to extend a thank you to all of the fathers of multiples. We are constantly leaning on you for support, a helping hand and the occasional covering for us when we need a mom’s night out! Happy Father’s Day! As excited as I am to serve, I could not do the job without the help of my executive board, general board members, committee members, and Chair positions. and talents to PAMOM. Since I have been an Office Manager for CPA’s for half my life, I thought being Treasurer would be a great fit. I would also like to give a big thank you to Terri Ellis Schmidt for volunteering for the [email protected] past six years on the PAMOM Board! Hello! My name is Sandy Bobo, and I am the new Treasurer for the 20152016 PAMOM year. I have volunteered for the last two years on the Helping Hands Committee and have decided to step it up this year; by joining the Executive Board. This will be my fifth year in PAMOM. I thought long and hard on what would be a good fit for me, how I could contribute my time, Thank you to all who have stepped up to serve on the board this year! I’m looking forward to a great year! PAMOM’s fiscal year begins in June. The proposed budget will be discussed at the upcoming Board meeting, and will be approved by the Board. I am Christine MOM to: Sloane & Harrison (7/9/14) Stroud, [email protected] and I am happy to be this year’s PAMOM Secretary. This is my first year to serve on the Board. I have active, entertaining 11-month-old B/G twins, Harrison and Sloane. They will turn one on July 9th, and I am currently having fun planning their first birthday party. When I’m not volunteering for PAMOM PAMOMSecretary and chasing my little ones around, I work as an attorney for an oil and gas business located in Addison. In my (limited) free time, I love to cook, travel, take photos and run. I began attending PAMOM meetings in 2014 when I was pregnant with my twins. The decision to volunteer was easy! From the beginning, PAMOM has been such a blessing to me—it is a great place to get advice, make friends, and remember that you are not alone in the challenges of raising multiples! I am looking forward to getting to know many more of you this year and serving on the Executive Board under the guidance of Laura Al-Otaibi. Heather Cox EARLY LEARNING MOMS COORDINATOR Cox Quads last day of school! Welcome back Early Learning Moms! Despite having a great transition period for PAMOM in most areas, we are still in need of an Early Learning Moms Coordinator. Until the role has been filled, I will be overseeing the forum. That being said, my plate is very full between my own five kiddos and my dedicated role as the Meeting Support Coordinator. I enjoy serving PAMOM with all I have, but I hate to stretch myself too thin! Please consider stepping up and taking over the forum, or grab a friend and cocoordinate it together! With the outgoing coordinating, Juliet, to help guide you, it should be an easy transition. Please let me know if you are considering, I'd love to talk to you about the position to see if it's a good fit for you!For the month of June, we will do an open discussion or Q&A. I'd like to take this time to talk about what topics you'd like to cover over the coming year and what you did and didn't like this past year. If time allows, we can also discuss other topics such as transitioning into elementary school, discipline for older kiddos...etc. I look forward to seeing you all June 9th at 6:15pm. Newsletter Editor Melissa Miller Newsletter Editor Mom to: Mark(12/98) & Martha & Melissa (6/00) [email protected] Hello, my name is Melissa Miller. I will be serving as PAMOM Newsletter Editor this year. I’m a 25-year retired Army wife. Hubby, Mark, and I will celebrate 27 year anniversary in September. In my husband’s retirement, he has discovered why I didn’t always have dinner on the table when he came home from work. Or when the children were still in their pjs and dirty when he came home, and I think he has the “easy” years with them being teens. He is basically their chauffeur and money tree, and he has no time to himself. (giggle-sorry to any dad’s reading) We have 3 children, son-Mark II-16 years old & Identical Twin daughters-Martha & Melissa – 15 years old.WHEW! Where has the time gone? I blinked and they are almost grown. My son recently received his driver’s license, left the house for the very first time, and I was a basket case! My son plays ice hockey on a Dallas Stars youth travel team, and his HS Varsity team. Our twin girls are gymnasts, soccer players, tennis players, and Martha just made the Color Guard. If you haven’t guessed yet, with all of those schedules…yes! My calendar is color coded. Everyone has their own color, and then the twins have 2 colors-one for when they have their own activities, and one for when they have activities together. I love Scrapbooking, Crafts, Reading and playing softball-YES! I still play co-ed, and still haven’t found an “ol lady team” yet. My husband has his own color too, as he plays on an ‘ol dudes (over 30) ice hockey team. I work full-time at the VA clinic in Ft. Worth, and have worked as some kind of Administrative Assistant for the VA since 1990. We had 19 military moves, and I worked at 13 VA’s so far. Before that, I was an Admin. Assistant in the US Army Reserves. Anyway, back to business. Please don’t hesitate to send me articles, pictures, videos (yes I want your cute, funny and hilarious videos of those kids). For July, I need all of those Red/White/Blue pictures, fireworks pictures, picnic pictures, lake or pool pictures -whatever you do on July 4th, send them to me at [email protected] Then, in August, send me your watermelon pictures, your school supply shopping pictures. BE CREATIVE!! If you have a picture you just love and want to share, but I haven’t listed that for submission-SEND IT TO ME ANYWAY! I may be working on articles where I need a filler, and your picture would be PERFECT. And don’t forget those siblings too. I also serve as a District Reporter for NOMOTC, writing articles for “The Notebook”. You may hear from me for those too! I look forward to seeing your articles, pictures, videos and fun times this year. Twinscerely plus one, Melissa M. (AKA – “Melissa squared” – there are 2 of us on the Board now.) KID’S BIRTHDAYS!
