Juror and Awards Judge: Kim Casebeer. The PSC is proud to present the 2016 judge and
juror, Kim Casebeer. Kim is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America, a Master
Signature member of American Women Artists, and a Signature member of the Oil Painters of
America. Kim has been in numerous museum exhibits and has won many awards for her
paintings, including top awards at the Pastel Society of America National Show, the American
Women Artists’ National Show, and the Pastel Journal Pastel 100. She has work in many private,
corporate, and museum collections throughout the United States.  Kim is represented by
American Legacy Gallery in Kansas City, MO; Grapevine Gallery in Oklahoma City, OK; Hueys Fine
Art in Santa Fe, NM; Legacy Gallery in Scottsdale, AZ and Jackson, WY; Reuben Sanders Gallery in
Wichita, KS; and Strecker-Nelson Gallery in Manhattan, KS.
Kim’s work has been featured in magazine articles in American
Art Collector (2009 & 2011), Western Art Collector (2010),
Southwest Art (2011), Art of the West (2011), Plein Air
Magazine (2013), and Fine Art Connoisseur (2014).  She is
featured in the Grand Teton and Yellowstone section of Art of
the National Parks book co-authored by Susan Hallsten
McGarry and Jean Stern, and participated in a group show of
this work at Wilcox Gallery in 2013.
As part of a fourth generation Kansas farm family, Kim has
been connected to the land for a long time.  Kim draws her
inspiration from the simplicity of the Flint Hills, an area of wide
open ranch land. 
ELIGIBILITY: The 12th Annual Mile High International Pastel Exhibition 2016 juried show is open
to any pastel artist 18 years of age or older. PSC Exhibition Policy:
 Works juried into the show and not delivered for the exhibit will prohibit the artist’s entry
in future PSC sponsored exhibits for two years.
 Original paintings only accepted.
 No work from copyrighted images or photographs taken by anyone other than the
submitting artist.
 Duplicate paintings are not accepted and will be rejected.
 If used in your paintings, collage materials must be created by the artist.
 All artwork must be at least 80% soft pastel.
 Work done under supervision in a class or workshop is not eligible.
 Paintings must have been completed within the last two years and not previously shown
in any Pastel Society of Colorado exhibit. Any painting identified as shown previously in
a PSC exhibit will be rejected or, if discovered after jurying, will remain in the exhibit and
the artist will be suspended from the next two International Exhibitions. The painting will
also not be eligible for any awards.
ENTRY FEE: Up to three paintings may be submitted at a fee of $35 PSC Members, $45 NonMembers plus an additional two for $10 each. (Example: Member enters 3 = $35; 4 = $45, 5 =
$55; Non-Member 3 = $45, 4 = $55, 5 = $65. Entry fee is nonrefundable and must be paid at
time of entry. Entry deadline is at midnight PST on April 9, 2016. All entries must be made
through www.OnlineJuriedShows.com
ENTERING YOUR IMAGES: For best results, make sure your image is 1920 pixels @72 dpi on
the longest side. Images should be in JPEG format, sRGB color space. Help in photographing
your work and properly sizing your images can be found at:

AWARDS: Extensive cash and merchandise awards will be presented at the opening reception
on July 10, 2016. $3500 in cash including $1000 for Best of Show and thousands more in
merchandise. All awards are made at the discretion of our judge, Kim Casebeer. All awards will
be final with no exchanges or substitutions.
THIS ENTRY FORM IS CONSIDERED A CONTRACT and must be completely and accurately filled
out by providing all requested information regarding the paintings and the artist. Only digital
entries will be accepted through OnlineJuriedShows.com, a secured website.
Online Entry: Go OnlineJuriedShows.com to submit entries. When filling out your information
for this show, please be sure all information is correct – spelling, titles, capitalization, and
pricing of artwork. All information entered by the artist is used AS Entered for labels and the
catalogue. By providing the images and other information, the artist gives permission through
this entry for the Pastel Society of Colorado to use the images of the accepted paintings for
reference, printed materials, and online postings, as well as in future advertising. At the end of
your entry process, payment will be made using a PayPal account or a valid credit card. No
changes can be made after the entry deadline. The judge may select up to two paintings by an
individual artist for inclusion in the show.
NOTIFICATION: An acceptance or rejection notice will be issued by email for each painting
entered. If you do not receive notification for one or more entries, please check your spam first,
then log into your artist account on www.OnlineJuriedShows.com and click "Your Artist Profile.

FRAMING & PRESENTATION: All works must be delivered framed, glazed, and ready to hang
according to gallery quality standards, i.e. frames must be suitable for the work and undamaged,
with D-ring hangers and wire installed on the frame. No sawtooth hangers. Paintings can be with
or without mats. Neutral-hued mats are recommended. Artwork can be floated on black or white
mats. Liners or fillets should be ¼ inch and may be colored. Artwork not meeting the above
criteria will be returned at the artist’s expense and will not be hung in the show.
SIZE AND REQUIREMENTS: Artwork submitted cannot be smaller than 8 inches or larger than 40
inches in any dimension (not including mat and frames). Accepted paintings must be identical to
the entry. No substitutions or copies are allowed. All work displayed must remain for the duration
of the exhibition.
SALES: All work submitted must be for sale. There will be a 35% commission and sales tax will be
added to sales. PSC will handle all sales. No work will be released before the close of the exhibit.
Artists will be paid for sales within 30 days of the end of show. Commissions from sales completed
after the show that were initiated during the exhibit are expected to be paid by the artist to the
Pastel Society of Colorado.
LIABILITY: Utmost care will be taken in the handling of entries and paintings. However, neither
the Pastel Society of Colorado nor the Denver Public Library or their agents will be responsible
for loss or damage to any entries or paintings in transit when submitted for this exhibition.
Shipping insurance is the responsibility of the submitting artist. Artwork will be insured while
displayed at the Denver Public Library.
DELIVERY OF ACCEPTED WORK: Shipping and Delivery instructions for hand delivery of accepted
paintings will be included in a notification email. Shipped paintings must be received by June 24,
2016 including all paperwork requested and with a pre-paid return shipping label included. For
shipped work, expect a handling fee of about $50 paid to the shipping agent (to be arranged) for
unpacking and delivering to the Denver Public Library and retrieving, repacking, returning unsold
work. Shipping charges are separate. Please pack work carefully and insure it adequately. Artists
will be contacted if work arrives damaged so arrangements can be made to reframe as needed.
