COMMUNITY MEETING
Thursday 6th April 2017, 7pm in the Eurythmy Room
As part of our vision for a vibrant, cohesive community we have a
student code of conduct and a staff code of conduct and some of our
parents have been saying it is time we had a parent code of conduct
to better articulate our values and vision for the parent community.
Come along to engage in meaningful consultation with other parents
to develop this guiding document.
In addition to developing a parent code of conduct there will be a
short presentation from the College, Board and Trust on outcomes of
last year and our goals for this year, as well as our plan for
transitioning to a new principal and upholding the Special Character
of our school amidst this process.
We will also be joined by our new principal Theresa Sayn
Wittgenstein Piraccini. This is a great opportunity to come along
and meet her before she commences her new role next term.
EURYTHMY IN MICHAEL PARK
KINDERGARTENS
Parents of kindergarten children are warmly invited to a 45-minute
session on the topic of kindergarten eurythmy, in the big eurythmy
room on Wednesday, 5th April at 13:00 (sharp).
We will do a short kindergarten-eurythmy class (very low-impact)
and there will be an opportunity to ask questions about pedagogical
and therapeutic eurythmy.
I would like this to be an adultsonly session and ask that
arrangements are made for
toddlers and babies to be
minded by family or friends.
With warm greetings, Eileen
Boland
SCHOOL PHOTOS CLASSES 1-12
Class Photos will be taken on Wednesday 12th April, please ensure
your child is wearing correct dress code.
This year we are also offering sibling photographs. Your son or
daughter will be able to collect a sibling photo order slip from the
office or email [email protected]. Families with siblings
in the kindergarten will be photographed first and parents will need
to attend. Parents will need to complete and return the slip to school
before 10th of April.
Students who wish to have a sibling photo taken will be provided
with a Shoot Key just like the one they receive for their class photo. It
is then an easy process for you to shop on-line and purchase the
photographs you want.
Please note that Team/Sports photos will be taken at a later date.
We look forward to seeing you there.

A FEAST AND A SHOW
Antigone - Class 12 Play
Class 12 has been working very hard to produce a high quality production in our final year of
school. The class 12 play has given us all the opportunity to have an individual experience of an
intense work environment and to gain practice for the future. The intense journey is giving us an
insight into the dedication required to drive a complex project to completion.
Our production is a modern adaptation of Sophocles Antigone. It uses an eclectic variety of
contemporary music, puppetry, movement, projection, object theatre, and traditional Japanese
Taiko drums. The style of our production has been inspired by elements of Japanese Kabuki /
Bunraku theatre and it has a sleek asian aesthetic.
We have stylised and created a contemporary yet ancient feel by incorporating modern material
such as the works of Kate Tempest and poets Anne Carson, Rumi and Rilke, and the music of Jose
Gonzalez.
The play revolves around the themes of spiritual law vs man’s law, the nature of free will and the
challenges and sacrifices of going against the grain. The power of an individual voice to challenge
social and political structures is relevant for these times and although the story of Antigone is a
Greek tragedy, our production juxtaposes elements of light and darkness to create something
uplifting for these times.
Because it is a very dramatic production and we are working towards a extremely special theatre
experience, we ask that no children under the age of eleven attend.
Although there is no overt violence or bad language in this show, children below this age will not
be engaged.
