Alaska Highway 75th Anniversary Theme Song Contest
Criteria for contest:
We are looking for a theme song to mark the 75th Anniversary of the Alaska Highway. The song should
meet the following guidelines:
 Song should be 3-5 minutes in length
 Lyrics should relate to the 75th Anniversary of the Alaska Highway or the Alaska Highway in
general
 Be catchy, a crowd pleaser, something you can snap your fingers to, do the two-step or play
repeatedly on your ipod as you rock your way down the highway
 Have universal appeal (addresses all ages, culture, and ethnic backgrounds)
 Can be collaborative (songwriters and musicians can enter as a team)
 The song must be made available for use in a variety of broadcasting, promotional, and social
mediums
 Songwriters must provide a performer for their song
 Performers of the winning song must be prepared to perform during 2017
What do you get if you win?
 Your song will be professionally recorded
 You will be known across the region as a winning songwriter
 $1,000

dropbox, or flash drive by mail.
 Be sure to include the contact information (name, address, phone number, email address) of all
of the performers and/or collaborators

Selection Process
 The winning song will be chosen by a panel of established singer/songwriters TBA
Rights
 The winning songwriter grants to the PLRAC a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, copy,
perform and display the winning song’s composition and recording, or any portion thereof, and
all related information about the winning song and songwriter, both now and in the future.
The winning songwriter agrees to release, defend, indemnify and hold harmless the PLRAC from
and against any claim, including, without limitation, copyright infringement or misappropriation
arising from any acts or omissions in connection with the prize or its operation.
