“In`s” and “Out`s” of Digestion

The “In’s” and “Out’s” of Digestion
There’s no doubt that we all need to eat to live, nor is it a secret that when completely deprived of nourishment,
we cannot survive. But, for many, what remains a struggle is the basic principle of how digestion works, and
the overall purpose of why we eat.
For some, the extent of their digestive tract knowledge is limited to the realization that one day they eat and the
next day they poop…and although that is the oversimplified version, that’s okay.
But here’s the thing: Your digestive system is remarkable and is more involved in your life and your health
than you may realize. In fact, it’s estimated that the average American consumes about 40 tons of food in a
lifetime. Imagine that. How in the world can a body digest that much food?
Did you also know that your digestive system accounts for 80 percent of your immune system? That’s right,
how well your immune system works to keep you well is largely a result of how healthy you eat and how well
your digestive system is functioning.
You see, when you eat, the innate wisdom within you is incredible enough to ultimately take the foods that you
eat, break them down, and convert them into the needed materials for the body’s nourishment.
How amazing is that, especially being that the large majority of people primarily consume processed,
chemically-laden foods that are toxic and deprived of any high-quality and much-needed nutrients.
Seriously, to be able produce the proper enzymes and acid in the proper amounts, then to break down the food,
but to later be able to digest them…that’s remarkable!
But, how does the body do that? What determines what is desirable, needed, and allowable to come into the
body, or what is undesirable, not needed, and to be kept out of the body?
It’s your body’s INNATE Intelligence. Your body was created to be well, but in order for you to function,
heal, repair, organize and regulate trillions of cells, you were given an inborn intelligence that is able to take
care of all these functions and so much more.
As you know, your nervous system is what controls everything, including every aspect of your digestive
system. Therefore, in order to have a proper functioning, ultra-healthy digestive system, you must keep your
nerve system free of interference.
Think about this. When your brain is able to communicate with your digestive tract at 100 percent, your
digestion will likewise be at 100 percent. However, on the flip-side of that, when there is interference to the
nerves that control any part of the digestive system, the body, although very capable of healing, begins to adapt
and heal to a lesser degree. This is why it is so vital to make sure you always take care of your nervous system.
By taking full responsibility for your health today, you ensure a much healthier and happier tomorrow.
