POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Health Safety Environment (QHSE) Manager promotes safe behaviour and a zero harm
culture throughout the Newlands Group. The QHSE Manager implements the Newlands Group QHSE
policies; achieves the QHSE objectives and targets and provides strategic QHSE direction for the
Newlands Group. The QHSE Manager ensures all projects and actions of the Newlands Group are
carried out in accordance with the Newlands Group Policies and Procedures including Work Health
and Safety Act 2011 and the Newlands Group Environmental System and legislative requirements.
Gary has more than 36 years of experience as a
qualified builder, with more than 10 years working
directly in Quality, Workplace Health, Safety and
Environment. Gary is responsible for preparing and
implementing the Project Safety Plan, environment
management, conducting safety audits in each
project and for ongoing maintenance of the
integrated management systems, ensuring

Construction of 160 buildings for 120 schools in
south-west Queensland, working with up to 40 project
builders. The schools upgraded were located as far
east as Ipswich and west to Quilpie and involved
collaborative work with a number of local and state
concrete slab and concrete footing construction,
suspended concrete slab steel frame and block work
with steel sheet roof, and renovations to a number of
existing buildings.
Multi-Role Helicopter Facility – Oakey

Consisted of six stages incorporating the relocation of
existing facilities and construction of new workshops,
reconfiguration of buildings, extension of aircraft hangers
with installation of gantry crane, construction of new
