One Million Digital Arab Youth Campaign The 1

The 1st One Million Digital Arab Youth Campaign
Since the launch of Kwn Education, an Arabic online university offering MOOC-based degrees in
the digital field, important insight around three key factors become apparent. The first being the
importance of these digital degrees that it offers, second, the enormous demand for these degrees
by governments, organizations and individuals, and third the size and scale of the targeted
audience, being Arab Youth around the world.
Today, the Arab Youth population exceeds one hundred million, and studies suggest that more
than a quarter of those youth are unemployed, and their dearest wish at the least being that of
securing a job and becoming a productive and contributing member of society.
Whilst, Western countries, complain about the shortage of youth in their countries, we in Arab
countries have an advantage with this great resource at hand, and there is increasing awareness
around the importance of leveraging and exploiting that advantageous resource in a way that can
drive social and economic development and enrich Arab content in these countries.
Not only that, but being ‘Youth Rich’ countries, once expects the likes of ‘Mark Zuckerberg’, ‘Steve
Jobs’, and ‘Bill Gates’ to ideally surface from these countries.
The digital field represents the perfect opportunity for directing and employing these resources
and energies. A study published by Cisco in 2015, suggests that within the next nine years, there is
what equals 363 billion US dollars of untapped digital potential in the MENA region alone. All this
money and wealth waiting for someone to exploit, whilst Arab youth are paranoid chasing
traditional jobs that are no longer available. The only thing standing between Arab Youth and
their ability to exploit that potential and wealth that these digital opportunities present, is
nothing but skills. When it comes to infrastructure, studies suggest that more than 80% of
households in the region have internet, and most individuals have a mobile phone, hence target
audiences are very accessible. Furthermore, when it comes to business environment, there are
plenty of organizations offering seed funding, incubators and other support services, all they
desire to see, are projects of value that deem worth the investment and support. However, what
stands behind Arab Youth and their ability to exploit these opportunities and to come out with
projects that are of value, is the lack of digital skills, which forms the cornerstone of any digital
project.
Kwn Education is an online vocational university offering MOOC-based degrees in the digital field
and in Arabic language, for Arab Youth wishing to either startup a digital business or work at a
tech driven company, such as internet giants and dot coms, technology companies, egovernments, including telecom companies and others. As a result of its vast network, it was able
to form valuable partnership with leading companies locally and globally to give Kwn graduates
priority for either funding and incubating their projects and/or offering graduates priority for
employment opportunities and such across different countries, whether on site or working from a
distance and for competitive salaries and benefits, given the demand for these skills and their
current shortage in the market both locally and globally.
From this realization, a campaign has been organized for launch during the 4th quarter of 2016,
targeting the 1st One Million Digital Arab Youth, to be qualified through Kwn Education in the
Digital Field, and for which supporters from all over the world would be aligned under this one
campaign, these comprising governments, investors, corporates and support organizations who
would extend their support either in the form of funding Youth’s education or fund graduates’
digital projects and/or secure them employment opportunities including a range of other support
services.
There have been a number of government and numerous organizations both local and
international, that have expressed their readiness to cooperate and support the 1st One Million
Digital Arab Youth Campaign. This is the first education campaign of this scale in the history of
Arab Countries. The Campaign is being supported by a realization that the Arab Youth affair is a
global one affecting everyone, and that Youth are our Future and our Responsibility. We welcome
