The “Fresh From Florida” campaign helps Florida seafood companies market their
products using a very recognizable logo which is displayed on packaging and signage and
in a variety of print and electronic media. This logo associates the member's products with
Florida's worldwide image of excellence. The Florida Department of Agriculture and
Consumer Services, works diligently to make buyers aware of where to find Florida
seafood and keep it in the forefront of the food industry. A statewide marketing campaign
to increase public awareness of seafood's central role in Florida's economy reaches consumers through television ads, national magazine advertising, sporting events and local
seafood festivals. When consumers buy “Fresh From Florida” seafood, they are helping to
strengthen their local economy by supporting long-term sustainability of domestic fisheries and protecting them for future generations. www.freshfromflorida.com
Rentals in Paradise, Inc. is a real estate management company, established
in 2014, that rents vacation rental homes and long-term, year-round rentals in the
Middle Keys. Rentals are fully equipped homes with all the amenities and a sense
of being at home not often found in hotel rooms. There are many options to
choose from, such as condominiums, townhouses, single family homes, or a half
duplexes. Rental areas include in Duck Key, Grassy Key, Key Colony Beach and
Marathon.
“My key to success is treating people the way I would want to be treated,” said
owner Katie Ullrich, who added being responsive to her clients' needs is of upmost importance. “Finding great tenants and making a connection with them will keep them as annual renters, or will have them referring others to my
company.”
Her services are professional and knowledgeable. “I will always provide my clients with proper services, a clean
home and 24-hour management,” she said. (Ullrich is also a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. )

2016 will be as Sinatra said, “THE BEST IS YET TO COME”
I hope you all had a great Holiday and New Year! We had a great 2nd annual Florida Keys Craft Beer & Bubbly Fest, thank
you to our sponsors, volunteers, supporters, and our event partner, The Rotary Club of Marathon. We hope you all had the
opportunity to get out there and partake in our event, and of course that you were able to sample some libations while
having a great experience.
2016 has some great things in store for us, so let's list them out:
1) Marriott Courtyard Resort; scheduled to open around Jan-Feb of 2016, will provide yet another brand new, name brand resort for our visitors.
2) Marathon Airport Port of Entry (Customs/Immigration) will also open around Jan-Feb of 2016. Allowing for locals and visitors to travel internationally to and from Marathon
Airport, by air or by sea! This new, exciting service, of which your Marathon Chamber Board donated $25,000 towards; will have a huge economic effect on our businesses
and community, now and for many years to come.
3) Adult/professional Educational Opportunities for you, our valued members. Your Marathon Chamber plans on offering a plethora of educational seminars for you and your
staff this year. The Board has increased our continuing education scholarships up to $5,000! Please stay tuned as to when applications go out to you and fellow members.
4) Holiday Business Decorating Program: The Board has heard our community's cry for a more festive Marathon; we plan on coming up with a program that will help our great
community reach its potential during the 2016 holiday season.
5) Our annual Business Beautification Grant Program will be back for its sixth year, where we will award ten (10), $2,000.00 grants for selected business-members who will be
improving their façade. The Board has also increase this to even better award our business-members who strive to improve Marathon's visual appeal.
6) Angler & Ale: Hawks Cay resort's newest restaurant set to open to the public in early 2016!
Thank you again for being a member of The Greater Marathon Chamber of Commerce in 2015, and we hope you will stay with us in 2016. If you have any questions about your
membership renewal invoice please call us anytime. Want to know more about what the Marathon Chamber can do for you and your business? Please call us to set up an orientation/member benefits meeting; we will travel to your place of business if need be.
Here’s to a healthy, safe, and fruitful 2016!
Most Respectfully,
Daniel Samess, M.S. • Chief Executive Officer • Greater Marathon Chamber of Commerce • 12222 Overseas Hwy, Marathon, FL 33050 • W: (305) 743-5417 / F: (305) 289-0183
