• Chief Pontiac was an Odawa
leader who wanted to stop
the loss of Native American
hunting grounds.
• He united the tribes of the
Great Lakes region and the
Ohio River Valley region to
fight against the settlers in
those areas.
Starting in May of 1763, Pontiac and his
united tribes began attacks on British forts
in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, and
Indiana.
Britain eventually
gained back all the
forts and the
conflict ended.

English Bill of Rights of 1689.
