features that help them to survive. Discuss temperature in snowy conditions
and consider a range of ways to keep warm and if any of these would be
suitable.

warmth for the animal community. Through drama generate their feelings
and dialogue during Summer days. Show a range of photographs of forests
during a storm use freeze frame tecniques to explore animal feeling and
dialogue. Use sound effects to recreate the storm build the tension of the
animals fear about the storm and anxiousness during times of weather
change.

Explore the aspect of the book when the crow feels less beautiful and has no friends. Re-enact
through drama overheard conversations of what the crows peers are saying about him. Use this
as an opportunity to work on PSHE. Show children two apples and discuss similarities and
differences. Unknown to the children you have dropped the apple twenty times and bruised it
internally. Get the children to see that the apples look the same but when apple B is sliced open it
is brown and damaged, this is the effect of words on people. There are no outward wounds but
there are most certainly internal ones.
