Ask your child which seed they are watching and how it has changed during the week. READING/LANGUAGE: With a new story, The Case of the Gasping Garbage, students continue to examine characters and the motivations that affect the events in the story. Ask your child to describe Drake, Nell and their motivations. Dictionaries: We were excited to receive our own dictionaries from the Lion’s Club on Tuesday. Already students were using the dictionaries to find words’ spelling and definition, sound out new words, locate a word’s part of speech, learn sign language, and even examine maps and planets. Writing: With the delivery of the dictionaries, we took the opportunity to work on letter writing with a thank you note to the Lion’s Club. Weekly Challenge-optional In English, words that start with the prefix of “bi” mean “two of something”. There are many other prefixes that refer to a number. Make a chart to list several prefixes, their meaning, and examples of words with definitions with that prefix. Example: du0 two duet-a musical composition for two performers
