Breaside Bulletin 16 September 2016

BREASIDE BULLETIN
16 September 2016
A few words from Mrs Nicholson
Dear Parents
Another extremely busy week comes to an end at Breaside. I am very pleased to
share with you how successful the start of term has been. Children are now settled
and confident in their new routines. Our new teaching staff have also made an
excellent start to the year.
It was lovely to see so many of you this week at the various drop off and pick up
points around the school. Thank you to all those who attended the various “meet
the Teacher” meetings we had this week. We hope you found them both
imformative and encouraging. If you are still unsure about anything please do not
hesitate to get in touch.
Our Year 6 children continue with their 11+ exams for Bexley next week and St
Olaves today. I know that you will all join with me in wishing them the very best of
luck.
We have two important guests visiting Breaside on Monday to carry out our school
Governance Meeting - Simon Camby our Director of a Education for Cognita
Schools and James Carroll one of the Assistant Directors of Education. I hope
that you get the opportunity to meet them as they will both be on duty with me on
Monday morning. Let's hope the weather is kind to us!
I would like to wish you all a wonderful and relaxing weekend.
Mrs Nicholson

Congratulations to …
To Eve Sapsford 3S,

is an adverb.
Below is a formal acknowledgement from Collins
Dictionary thanking Eve for this information and
stating they will correct future additions!
Good work Eve!
Another great achievement
for an ex Breaside pupil.

entry for 'quickly' in the Collins English Dictionary
& Thesaurus.
We have noted the error and will correct it in future
editions. We are grateful that you brought this to our
attention.

This year, Breaside have started a brand new PSHE scheme of work called Jigsaw.
Every week there is a Jigsaw award which ties in to the work that we have been
doing in lessons. This week, the award was for “helping others to feel welcome”.
The following children were chosen for being especially welcoming this week…
Alice Robson (3E) for being responsible for looking after the new member of our class.
Charlie Pryce / Elliot Carter (4A) for doing an excellent job of looking after a new boy in our class.
Phoebe Copley (5J) for always being helpful and welcoming to others in the class.
Ryan Beckett (6D) for being helpful towards our new Year 6 pupil and making him feel very
welcome.
