Overview:
To provide Quantity Surveying and Porject Cost support to the PPP contract.
Mandatory requirements:
 A relevant B-degree or National Diploma in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
 At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in building construction.










Professional registration as a candidate or professional Quantity Surveyor would be an advantage
Knowledge and an understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act as well as Building Regulations.
Technical knowledge and experience in the general building environment.
Ability to read and understand space plans – CAD/Auto CAD drawings.
Planning and organising skills.

Ability to work independently as well as in a co-ordinated team.

Good Project Management skills
Computer literacy
Knowledge of the PFMA and PPPFA
Compiling a schedule of quantities and estimates for Variation Orders and Small Works
Evaluating and reporting on Bills of Quantities supplied by the Concessionaire
Consulting with the Concessionaire’s Project Managers for verification purpose.
Reporting on the penalties and monitory value of construction projects
Determining and advising on affordability and value for money on materials
Researching and recommending alternative cheaper materials with the same quality
Verifying material supplied against the approved drawing (furniture included)
Performing quality control and signing off after completion of projects
Evaluating quotations supplied by the Concessionaire for Variation Orders and Small Works

Inputting in the PPP financial model updates for VO’s and Small work quantities
Compiling of Bills of Quantities and inviting tenders for the dti regional offices’ construction projects
Evaluating quotations according to procurement legislation and recommending the successful tenderer
Determining compliance with technical standards, regulations and specifications
Preparing reconciliations and final accounts
Verifying and approving invoices for work completed as per approved specifications
Verifying the proposed life cycle and operational cost per project.
Compiling and submitting submissions, memoranda and relevant correspondence regarding Accommodation
Management Services
 Drafting and consolidating the dti annual project estimates
 Consolidating monthly, quarterly and annual reports
 Management and reconciliation of invoices for Variation Orders and Small Works.








