ABOUT LUCY FLORES:
Lucy Flores grew up in a
tough neighborhood in
North Las Vegas as one
of 13 children of Mexican
immigrants. Lucy earned
her GED, became the
first member of her
family to attend college,
and graduated from law
school the same year she was elected
Nevada’s first Latina Assemblywoman.
In office, Lucy passed improvements to
the way young people are tested by high
schools, protected consumers from
predatory practices and shielded victims
of domestic violence from abusers. Lucy
has not shied away from sharing her experiences growing up, including her own
teen pregnancy and abortion, in order to
highlight the impact legislation can have
on the lives of real people. She is running
for Nevada’s 4th Congressional District.
