Try ALL-NATURAL PLANT FOOD around all your flowers, shrubs, and vegetables and see what it can do for you! PREPARING YOUR GARDEN SPACE Proper soil preparation is essential to growing beautiful gardens of all kinds. When preparing larger areas, such as shrub beds, vegetable plots, perennial gardens, or flower borders, be sure to spread 1 to 2 inches of WHITNEY FARMS PLANTING COMPOST, along with the recommended amount of fertilizer over the area. Mix it in as deeply as you can — 6 to 8 inches is excellent. All Natural PLANT FOOD PLANTING SHRUBS Dig a hole 2 to 3 times wider than the root ball, but not much deeper. Mix a few shovelfuls of WHITNEY FARMS PLANTING COMPOST and the recommended fertilizer into the soil from the hole. Save this soil to refill the hole after planting. Loosen the soil at the bottom of the planting hole and blend in a few shovelfuls of PLANTING COMPOST and a handful of the fertilizer. Form a small mound at the base of the hole and place the plant on top. Refill the hole with the amended soil. Be sure the plant is at its original soil level. FEEDING ESTABLISHED PLANTS Spread the plant food in a circle around the plant, beneath the outer leaves. Scratch it into the soil surface, taking care not to damage shallow roots. FOR INDIVIDUAL PLANTS Give roots a fast, sure start! After preparing the garden area, mix a small amount of plant food (1⁄4 cup) into the bottom of each hole prior to planting. 5•1•5 GUARANTEED ANALYSIS Total Nitrogen (N)............................5% 5% Water Insoluble Nitrogen* Available Phosphate (P2O5)...........1% Soluble Potash (K2O)......................5% Derived from: Cottonseed Meal, Alfalfa Meal, Sulfate of Potash, Kelp Meal *5% slowly-available water insoluble nitrogen derived from cottonseed meal, alfalfa meal, and kelp meal Information regarding the contents and levels of metals in this product is available on the Internet at: http://www.aapfco.org/metals.htm Just a Reminder…Gardening can be a dirty business!
