If a child needs to use the restroom or have a diaper changed, the Tot Spot attendant will page the guardian using our store’s overhead paging system. The Tot Spot attendant may not leave the Tot Spot unattended and is not responsible for taking a child to the restroom or changing a diaper. No food or drink is permitted in the Tot Spot. If your child becomes unhappy while in the Tot Spot, the attendant will page the guardian. To protect all of our guest’s health and safety, individuals with visual signs of illness that may be spread through personal contact will not be allowed into the Tot Spot. Festival Foods operates this child care facility where children are cared for temporarily while parents/guardians of the children are on the premises and readily available. When registering each child, the parents/guardians accept all responsibility for the safety of the child and agree that Festival Foods is to be held harmless and free of any liability for any possible accident, injury, or illness incurred while visiting Tot Spot. Festival Foods cannot consent to or provide medical care for children visiting the Tot Spot. Should an emergency arise, the parents/guardians must be readily available to provide the necessary care or if the situation requires immediate action we reserve the right to move the child to a safe and secure location until the situation is cleared. For this reason, state law requires that the parents/guardians remain on the premises while children are in our care. A tot spot associate with “reasonable cause” to suspect child abuse or neglect is mandated to report. The tot spot associate will contact Store Management and they will notify the appropriate local county service.
