Page 1 1. ONGC in fray for Trebs, Titov fields in Russia ONGC has reportedly submitted its bid for Trebs and Titov oilfields in Russia.
The company is bidding for the proposed fields through its Russia based unit, Nord
Imperial. The two fields may hold more than 200 million tonne of recoverable
reserves.
The other companies which are in race for the development of these oilfields include
LukOil, TNK-BP, Gazprom Neft, Surgutneftegaz and OAO Bashneft.
Nord Imperial is part of Imperial Energy, which OVL, the overseas investment arm of
ONGC, had acquired in 2008.
2. BHEL Tiruchi mulls expansion BHEL's Tiruchi unit, which manufactures boilers, is considering setting up a greenfield
facility in western India due to inability to acquire land in Tamil Nadu for expansion.
The manufacturing unit may come up either in Maharashtra or Madhya Pradesh and
could involve an investment of around Rs 200 crore.
Currently, BHEL Tiruchi has undertaken a Rs 1,300-crore expansion plan. The
proposed investments include a Rs 390-crore greenfield facility at Tirumayam near
Tiruchi, which is expected to commence production in November 2011. By March 2012,
the unit is expected to reach 6,50,000-tonne capacity.
3. Bids invited for Solapur thermal plant NTPC plans to set up a 2x660 MW Solapur super thermal power project in Solapur
district of Maharashtra. The project is expected to cost Rs 6,500 crore.
The company has invited tenders from prospective entities for ash handling system
and ash water recirculation package for the power plant. The last date of submission
of bids is 23 November 2010.
4. Gammon subsidiaries secure order from KVK Energy Ansaldo Caldaie Boilers India and Franco Tosi Meccanica Spa, subsidiaries of Gammon
India have bagged an order to supply power equipment from KVK Energy and
Infrastructure.
2010.09.22 KOAMI, India Page 2 The financial details of the order have not been disclosed. The scope of work includes
designing, manufacturing, supplying, erecting and supervising of boiler turbine
generator (BTG) package of Unit I of 2X150 MW coal based power project of KVK
Energy at Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu.
The steam turbine and boiler are expected to be designed and manufactured by
FrancoTosi and Ansaldo. Balance work of BTG package will be undertaken by Gammon
EPC Power Division in India.
5. OGPL targets 200 MW wind farms overseas by 2013 Chennai based Orient Green Power (OGPL) aims to set up wind power farms with an
installed capacity of 200 MW on foreign shores by 2013.
OGPL proposes to pump in around $300 million (approx Rs 1,380 crore) in the project.
Currently, the company is setting up 10 MW each wind farms in Sri Lanka and Croatia,
which are expected to be completed by March 2011. Another 50-60 MW projects are
likely to come up in Croatia and another 80-90 MW in Sri Lanka.
6. Suzlon Energy wins order from Techno Electric Group Suzlon Energy has won news order worth Rs 1,149 crore from Kolkata based Techno
Electric Group, for over 202.2 MW wind power projects.
The order comprises of 24 units of Suzlon's S88 2.1 MW wind turbine generators
(WTGs), 34 units of Suzlon's S82 1.5 MW WTGs and 48 units of Suzlon's new S95 2.1 MW
WTGs. Phase I of 101.4 MW will be commissioned in Tamil Nadu by June 2011. Phase II
of 100.8 MW will be commissioned by December 2011.
