LCCS Men’s Basketball Program Coaching Staff PHILIP A BUDERVIC Head Coach – 1st Season Alma Mater: Malone University (Ohio) Email: [email protected] Phone: 352-209-1001 Coach Budervic comes to LCCS with multiple years of head coaching experience on both the high school and college levels. He has coached high school in Ohio and Florida and has sent many student athletes on to play collegiately on all levels including NCAA Division 1. His most recent coaching position was Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Silver Lake College in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Coach Budervic graduated from Lincoln High School (Ohio) and attended Malone University (Ohio) where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education in 1980. While attending Malone University, Coach Budervic played baseball for the late, Robert Starcher. He credits Coach Starcher for his dedication and passion for coaching. “Coach Starcher taught me how to compete with respect for my opponent. He took me under his wing and taught me many life lessons which I am passionate about passing on to my players. Without Coach Starcher, I do not know where I would be today.” Coach Budervic has been married for 30 years to his wife, Sheila. They have two grown children, John and Sara and a 15-year-old Poodle named Sluggo who is the “King of the castle.” MATT FRITZ JV Head Coach/Varsity Assistant Coach – 2nd Season Alma Mater: Kentucky Christian University(Kentucky) Matt Fritz is entering his second season as the JV Head Coach and Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach at LCCS. A 2005 graduate of Heritage Christian School, Matt was a member of the state 7th ranked boys’ basketball team his junior year. Matt earned his Bachelor’s Degree in 2009 from Kentucky Christian University where he also played basketball. Matt is employed by The Timken Company and resides in Uniontown, Ohio with his wife, Lezly, and their two children, Peyton and Mason. Matt is involved in the community on many levels including coaching youth basketball and football. Matt’s favorite quote is “Good enough, seldom is.” KALEB ESBER Freshman Head Coach – 4th Season Alma Mater: Lake Center Christian School LCCS Men’s Basketball Program Coaching Staff Kaleb Esber is entering his fourth year as Freshman Head Coach at LCCS. Kaleb is a 2011 graduate of LCCS, where he played four years of basketball and four years of soccer. Kaleb currently attends Kent State University where he is earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Middle School Education. Kaleb lives in Canton, Ohio. Kaleb is also the JV Golf Coach at LCCS. DWIGHT BLAIR Junior High School Coach – 1st Season Alma Mater: Morehead State University (Kentucky) Dwight Blair, a native of Ashland, Kentucky, is in his first season as Junior High School Coach at LCCS. A 1987 graduate of Paul G. Blazer High School (Kentucky). Dwight was a four-year letterman as the manager of the basketball program. Dwight earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities with a concentration in Social Science from Morehead State University in 1996. Dwight brings more than 25 years of basketball coaching experience in Ohio and Kentucky to the program. Dwight is employed by FedEx and resides in Canton, Ohio with his daughter Molly who is a Freshman in the Canton, City School System .
