Company re-establishes Corporate Relations function
In an effort to ensure Georgia Power is serving and engaging all of its
community stakeholders, the company is re-instating the Corporate
Relations function. In the past few years, the role of Corporate Relations
has been spread over several organizations. This change will align these
responsibilities to one organization, enabling a more focused approach and
increasing accountability.
Henry A. Kelly, project manager in Governmental &
Regulatory Affairs, has been named director of
Corporate Relations. He will report to Mike
Anderson, senior vice president of Charitable
Giving, in this role.
Kelly will be responsible for outreach to various
Henry Kelly
segments of the communities served by Georgia
Power. Kelly’s duties will include developing engagement strategies and
enhancing relationships with a broad group of key stakeholders throughout
the state in order to inform and promote advocacy on important industry
and company issues.
“As Georgia and the Southeast region continue to transform
demographically, we continue to recognize the importance of building and
sustaining positive relationships with the many communities who constitute
our customer base,” Anderson said. “Henry’s diverse background and his
proven track record of community involvement have more than prepared
him for this new role.”
Kelly has held a number of positions in region management during his
Georgia Power career, including region manager, assistant to the region
manager, customer service manager and comptroller. Other roles he has
held during his career include Regulatory Affairs representative and
Marketing Regulatory Affairs manager. He most recently led the
development of Georgia Power’s education strategy, PowerEd.
Kelly was also national accounts manager for Southern Company Services.
In the community, Kelly has served as an interim member of the Atlanta
Board of Education, a board member of Henry W. Grady Hospital
Foundation and vice chair of the City of Atlanta Audit Committee.
He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board for the Atlanta Chapter of
the 100 Black Men.
Kelly was recently appointed by Gov. Nathan Deal to serve on the Georgia
Professional Standards Commission. Also, he serves as a member of
Deal’s Council on Criminal Justice Reform Committee.
