Biostimulant is an umbrella term for products that stimulate natural processes to enhance/benefit nutrient uptake, nutrient efficiency, tolerance to stress, crop quality and ultimately increase yield potential. Biostimulant Categories Biostimulants are split into 4 major categories. They are: extracts, microbes, synthetic chemicals, hormones or a combination of these categories or a category with a nutrient or pesticide. What is the Goal of a Biostimulant? The ultimate goal is always yield. Biostimulants can increase yield by keeping the crop at a “steady state” allowing photosynthesis and respiration to be performed at an optimum level even when the plant is under stress. NP-37 WHAT IS A PLANT HORMONE AND HOW DOES IT WORK? What is a Hormone? • Chemical messenger synthesized in one cell that modulate processes in another cell • At vanishingly low concentrations, hormones have dramatic effects on growth and development • Provides the “promote” or “impede” signals for plant metabolism • Affects gene expression and transcription level, cellular division and growth • Works in tandem with each other at varying ratios of one or more interplaying to affect growth regulation Cytokinin (Kinetin) Stimulates cell division, involved in shoot growth, delays leaf senescence and activates dormant buds Gibberellic Acid (GA3) Stimulates shoot elongation, stimulates flowering, regulates production of hydrolytic enzymes in grains Indole-3-Butyric Acid (IBA) IBA is an auxin that enhances root growth, involved in apical dominance, stimulates cell elongation, enhances fruit and seed development NP-38 Aurora Cooperative is committed in bringing you, our farmer-owners, solutions that allow you to Realize more potential on each of your farms... How REALIZE is different • A proprietary product available only from Aurora Cooperative • Boosts plant growth and development for higher yield potentials • Enhances photosynthesis and respiration • Yield boosting hormones formulation with the right ratio and concentration What does REALIZE do? Larger Root System Enhanced Plant Growth Increased Yields Cytokinin (Kinetin) Stimulates cell division, shoot growth, delays leave senescence and activates dormant buds Gibberellic Acid (GA) Stimulates shoot elongation, regulates production of hydrolytic enzymes in grains Indole-3-Butyric Acid (IBA) IBA is an auxin that enhances root growth; involved in apical dominance, stimulates cell elongation, enhances fruit and seed development 75.7 bu/A 71.5 bu/A Proven Results Application Instructions: Rate: 4-8 oz/A • In-furrow and Foliar • Can be added to: • Liquid starter fertilizers • Foliar fertilizers • Pesticides • Can be applied through irrigation NP-39 APPLICATION TIMING AND RECOMMENDATIONS Crops Alfalfa, Established Alfalfa, Newly Seeded Application Type (Ounces/Acre) No. of In Seed Apps Broadcast Band Spray Spray Furrow 1 4.0-8.0 Apply when sufficient re-growth is present upon dormancy break 2-4 4.0-8.0 Apply when sufficient re-growth is present following cutting during the growing season 1 4.0-8.0 Apply when seedling alfalfa is in the 3rd to 4th trifoliate stage 1 8.0 5.0 2.0-8.0 Apply in-furrow or apply as a foliar broadcast or in a band at V2-V6 leaf stage 2-3 4.0-8.0 3.0-5.0 2.0-8.0 Apply in-furrow and/or broadcast or in a band at V2-V6 leaf stage and/ or again at V10-VT 1 8.0 4.0 2.0-8.0 Apply in-furrow or apply as a foliar broadcast or in a band between flower bud initiation and final bloom 2-4 4.0-8.0 3.0-5.0 2.0-8.0 Apply in-furrow and/or apply as a foliar broadcast at pinhead early bloom or in a band and/or then 7-14 day intervals 1 8.0 2 4.0-8.0 1 8.0 5.0 2.0-8.0 Apply in-furrow or apply as a foliar broadcast or in a band at 2-6 leaf stage 2-3 4.0-8.0 3.0 2.0-8.0 Apply in-furrow and/or apply as a foliar broadcast or in a band at 2-6 leaf stage and/or again at boot stage 1 8.0 5.0 2.0-8.0 Apply in-furrow or apply as a foliar broadcast or in a band at V4-V6 stage 2-3 4.0-8.0 3.0-5.0 2.0-8.0 Apply in-furrow and/or apply as a foliar broadcast or in a band at V4V6 and/or again at R1-R3 1 8.0 2.0-8.0 Apply in-furrow or apply as a foliar broadcast at tillering in the fall or spring 2 4.0-8.0 2.0-8.0 Apply in-furrow and/or apply as a foliar broadcast at tillering in the fall or spring and again when there are 2- 3 leaves on the main stem Corn, Field Cotton Rice Apply as a foliar broadcast at 2-5 leaf stage Apply as a foliar broadcast at 2-5 leaf stage or and again at panicle initiation Sorghum Soybeans Wheat, Barley, Oats, Rye This is not a label.
