Hurdle Drills:
Lead Leg Lift
 With back to fence, lift knee (thigh to parallel), extend lower leg over the hurdle
 10x each leg
Trail Leg Circles
 Facing fence (or hands on shoulder of your partner), extend trail leg behind you, pull trail leg up
and over hurdle, repeat
 Leg flat, toe up, foot flexed
 10x each leg
Lead Leg
 Stand on one side of the hurdle, lift lead leg (thigh parallel to ground) and extend it to the fence,
paw the ground with the ball of your foot, repeat.
 10x each leg
Pull Through with Partner
 Straddle the hurdle (lead leg in front)
 Holding your partners hands, pull trail leg over the hurdle
 10x each leg
Right/Left Lead Leg
 Bring your right leg, then left leg over the hurdle
 Bring knee up (thigh parallel, foot flexed) and over hurdle
 5 Hurdles 3x
 Repeat leading with left leg
Alternate Right/Left Lead
 Bring right leg over the hurdle
 Bring left leg over the next hurdle
 Use your arms
 5 Hurdles 3x
Two Forward/One Back
 Do “right/left lead leg” drill
 Go over two hurdles and then go backwards over one
 Right leg, left leg over hurdle, repeat, right leg back, left leg back
 5 Hurdles 2x
Side Over
 Facing the side of the hurdle, bring right leg over hurdle then left leg
 Focus on lifting knee over the hurdle
 Work both sides of the hurdle (so you work both legs equally)
 5 Hurdles 3x each side
