Three Squared – The fact that so much hinges on the partnership of three key elements:
Knowledge = the possession of truth
– I never knew that
Understanding = the comprehension of truth
– what do you mean
Wisdom = the application of truth
– the how and the when
Einstein – “The finite cannot grasp the infinite”
 Born again, our awakened spirits enable us to venture into new levels of understandings
Matt 13:10- 13 – “And the disciples came and said to Him, Why do You speak to them in parables?
11 He answered and said to them, because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the
kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. 12 For whoever has, to him more will be
given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away
from him. 13 Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they
do not hear, nor do they understand.”
Proverbs mentions Knowledge, Understanding and Wisdom many times.
Proverbs 1:1-4 – “The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel 2 To know wisdom and
instruction, to perceive the words of understanding 3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice,
judgment, and equity 4 To give prudence to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion”

 What are your thoughts on this statement? Agree, disagree – why?
Hosea 4:6 - “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”
Destroyed = ḏâmâ; to destroy, be brought to silence, be undone
KNOWLEDGE – vs 5: A wise man will hear…
 What has God been saying to you this year?
 What have you head/what are you hearing? For this year, this month, this week, for today?
Vs 3 – Positioned to receive
 In what ways this week can we better position ourselves to hear and receive from God?
Vs 7 – “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction”
Fear – Respect, Reverence, Awe

Knowledge – The what, that reveals…
KEY: Knowledge is a catalyst to Vision
Proverbs 13:16 - “Every prudent man acts with knowledge…”
Understanding – The why, that secures…
KEY: Understanding is the foundation of retention
Knowledge (Vision is one thing)
Understanding (Retention is another thing)
Wisdom – The when, that establishes…
Three fold cord (God, Husband & Wife), Faith Hope & Love, Trinity, Body soul Spirit
The WHAT, WHY, but the WHEN/HOW is where we so easily fail to establish the plan and purpose of
God
Jer 10:12 - “He has made the earth by His power, He has established the world by His wisdom, and
has stretched out the heavens at His discretion.”
Ecc 10:10 – “If the ax is dull, and one does not sharpen the edge, then he must use more strength;
But wisdom brings success”
Prov 4:5 - “Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my
mouth. 6 Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; Love her, and she will keep you.
Prov 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; “Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get
understanding 8 Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honor, when you embrace
her…
11 I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in right paths. 12 When you walk, your
steps will not be hindered, and when you run, you will not stumble. 13 Take firm hold of instruction,
do not let go; Keep her, for she is your life.”
1. Wisdom refuses to live alone
 The learning’s of 3 squared - Every major truth… minimum of two guy ropes
Proverbs 1:5 – “A wise man will hear and increase learning, and a man of understanding will attain
wise counsel”
 Aspects to discuss with your Group:
 Intentionality of wise counsel…
 The enemies tactic – work toward isolation
 Danger of doing Life Alone… Within your walls
Wise Counsel = The blend of Experience, Faith, True objectivity
Proverbs 24:6 – “ For by wise counsel you will wage your own war, and in a multitude of counselors
there is safety.”
 Who do you currently go to for wise counsel? Which aspect or the three do you still require?

2. Wisdom resists an emotion-based response
 The power of an emotional moment and its future impact
Proverbs 24:3-4 – “Through wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; 4 By
knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. 5 A wise man is strong, yes, a
man of knowledge increases strength”
 So many sidelined because of a pressured moment
Many by the enticement of an emotional moment
e.g. Prisons are filled with regretful moments
Proverbs 29:3-4 – “Whoever loves wisdom makes his father rejoice, but a companion of harlots
wastes his wealth. 4 The king establishes the land by justice, but he who receives bribes overthrows
it.”
 What trouble can emotion-based responses get us into?
 In what ways can we resist the invitation of making emotionally charged decisions?
3. Wisdom refocuses eternal perspective
 God speaks from the long term view
 Timing is of upmost important
Truth & Timing are two complementing not conflicting things
Acts 1:6 – “Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, Lord, will You at this
time restore the kingdom to Israel? 7 And He said to them, It is not for you to know times or seasons
which the Father has put in His own authority. 8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit
has come upon you…”
 In what ways can we adopt an eternal perspective?
 Why is an eternal perspective important?
4. Wisdom requires an ask
 Wisdom is gain by the seeker, asker
James 1:5 – “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without
reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is
like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will
receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double- minded man, unstable in all his ways.”
 What areas of your life are you seeking wisdom in?
