CHUM Prayer List for 01.14.17 NEW OR UPDATED PRAISES & REQUESTS th Brian Wilcox went to be with the Lord on 1/12, after the kids had boarded the bus for school. It was his 48 birthday. Service will be in the CHUM sanctuary on Sunday, January 22 at 2:00. Please keep Chris and the children in prayer!~ st Cathy Buckley, (12/11) who is Pastor Sharon’s aunt, went back to work full-time mid-December and also got married for the 1 time! She continues on chemo for lung cancer that metastasized to her brain. She is still weak but determined and appreciates prayers..~ Doug & Kirsten Kocher (1/11) are rejoicing that their son, Jacob, is back at school & doing better after battling mononucleosis, or some similar virus!~ Phyllis Kilburn (1/12) pray for a gentle release from this world. She’s ready to meet her Lord face to face after fighting breast cancer for 30 years.~ Linda Fortney (1/12) asks prayer for, Terry Magee, with un-operable cancer, recovering following exploratory surgery, & seeking a treatment plan.~ Barb Densham fell & broke her leg and is in Holy Spirit Hosp., but couldn’t have her 1/11 scheduled surgery due to of a UTI & breathing concerns.~ Anita Ord (1/11) fell recently and broke her right wrist in several places, will be somewhat incapacitated for a while, and appreciates our prayers!~ Family Promise (1/11) is rejoicing because several families in their ministry have recently taken significant steps toward getting into homes!~ Rich Brokenshire, (1/11) husband of Carla, lost his long battle with cancer on 1/7 and his memorial service was held 1/12. Let’s pray for his family!~ Don Van Fleet (1/10) asks prayer for Amy (37) who fell down a flight of stairs and is paralyzed. The good news is nothing appears broken or severed!~ rd th Georgene Cero (1/10) is scheduled to have her 3 back surgery on Monday, January 16 , and we want to be lifting both husband Ben & her in prayer!~ Doris Myers (1/9) one of CHUM’s homebound members is making good progress following two recent hospitalizations, for which we give thanks!~ Linda Thomas shares her prayerful thanks (01/08) that God has been present with her, helping to keep her strong, & asks continued prayer, especially for her children amidst a time of family brokenness.~ Jim Harry (1/5), a 95 yr. old CHUM member, had surgery at Hbg. Hospital on 1/5 to deal with some toe infection issues, but is now home recuperating.~ th Donna Szwast (1/5) had surgery on January 5 at Holy Spirit Hospital, where she was held overnight, but is now home recuperating.~ Ashley Turban (1/4) was discharged to home after being in Hershey Med. since before Christmas and will continue to recuperate there for a while.~ RECENT PRAISES & REQUESTS th Angie Ackerman (1/11) our oldest CHUM member, turned 101 at Country Meadows on Friday, January 6 , and is doing remarkably well!~ Carla Hackenberg (1/8) was released from Holy Spirit Hosp. on 1/8 after experiencing some health issues & is now recuperating at home.~ ONGOING CONCERNS Sandy Zirbel (1/11) asks prayer for her mother and dad, Ron & June Roskams, now that her mom has been placed on hospice with breathing issues.~ Sandii Peiffer (1/11) continues to make progress at home building up her strength after a month in the hospital during which she lost 40 lbs.!~ Madelyn Massey (1/5) appreciate prayers as she continues her cancer battle with hormone therapy, making some progress & doing somewhat better!~ Sandy Pike (1/4) asks prayer for her daughter in FL, Karen Aungst, who had brain tumor surgery just after Thanksgiving & is now ½ way through her radiation and chemo. Sandy also requests prayer for herself for ongoing problems with double vision, dizziness, and pressure buildup in her eyes.~ Cindy Wakefield, (1/4) one of our homebound, returned home from rehab 12/23 but continues with PT to strengthen arms & legs after earlier fall.~ George A. Smith (1/4), a CHUM member who is 95, was recently discharged from rehabilitation after a fall which occurred early in December.~ Linda Carl (12/29) was back to the ER again with a stubborn infection which has derailed plans for an upcoming back surgery next month.~ Rafé Shearer had her 12/27 consult at Temple University Hosp. to discuss a possible lung transplant and the next step is to have extensive testing.~ nd Kia McCabe (12/27), CHUM’s custodian, is recuperating from a 2 carpal tunnel surgery which took place on 12/29, and is back working on light duty.~ We’re praising God that Kelly Marrara (12/21) has felt led to take over the leadership of CHUM’s Family Promise Ministry from Chris & Laura Durant!~ Steve Smith (12/14) appreciates prayers for wisdom as he makes decisions about treatment options after receiving his PET scan results on 1/16.~ Jessica Bryson (12/14) [Ray Shutt's granddaughter] diagnosed w/breast cancer & has 3 little kids. Having radiation & chemo & possibly 4/17 surgery.~ Dorothy Peters (12/13) asks for prayers for the granddaughter of a friend who is dealing with a recurrence of cancer in her leg.~ Marilyn Elliott (12/13) has been experiencing a number of mini-strokes over the last number of months and was seeing a cardiologist this past week.~ Janet Sweitzer transitioned on 12/6 from Community General to Schoolyard Square in Pine Grove. It’s an independent living and personal care facility.~ Renae Boyer (12/3) is undergoing radiation and a clinical trial for her breast cancer. Her husband, Eric, who carries their insurance loses his job 1/31!~ Arlene Williams (11/30), homebound member, is recuperating at home after a hospital stay after another TIA & other issues. Prayers welcome!~. Ellen Crompton (11/27) asks prayer for her daughter’s family as they mourn the sudden loss of her grandson (25) who was a young husband & father.~ Suella Barto (11/17) has been unable to be in worship since October due to swelling in her feet and legs, due to kidney issues, & appreciates prayers.~ Gary Gettys (11/5) was recently diagnosed with brain cancer, & on 11/10 began both radiation and chemotherapy.
