After graduation, Mike moved to Florida where he worked for Yoshino Architects and gained a diverse design experience from conceptual site design through construction administration. During his 8 year tenure, notable projects included a high-rise condominium, boutique hotels, and variety of office and restaurant projects. In 2005, Mike went to work for a large developer as Vice President of Development. While there he helped streamline the predevelopment process by using his integral knowledge of the codes and ability to produce conceptual designs to expedite the developer’s design process and give the team tangible ideas for creating more accurate proformas. As Vice President of Development he was able to work closely with architects, engineers and city commissioners to submit various projects including a 412 unit apartment complex and mixed use retail for site plan approval. Michael Dumala Principal, YD Boston Architectural Center In November of 2008, Mike returned to architecture as Principal/Partner at Yoshino Architects and the company was renamed Yoshino Dumala Architects. Since his return, Mike has been spearheading a 13 story hotel in West Palm Beach, Florida.
